WTFN CHANNEL 69 – PET OF THE WEEK
ANCHOR DESK: "Moving on to our community segment. It is Friday, and time for our WTFN Channel 69 Pet of the Week.
Now, normally this is where we show you a flawless, photogenic golden retriever that everyone scrambles to adopt. But today, we are forced to look at reality.
Please turn your attention to the screen, if you dare. This is Big Richard. Yes, you heard that right. We’ve been assured by the shelter staff that Big Richard is a completely wholesome, family-friendly name for this little guy. It’s perfect for the kids to yell across the dog park at the top of their lungs. Look at him. He is a scruffy, bug-eyed little disaster. He looks like a lint trap that somehow gained sentience and a bad attitude. He’s got about four teeth, a permanent head tilt, and a tongue that doesn't quite fit in his mouth.
And yet, he has been sitting in kennel number four for three straight months. While you all sit at home on your comfortable couches, scrolling past his adoption profile to look at purebred puppies, Big Richard is spending another weekend staring at a concrete wall. We know exactly what you’re thinking: 'Oh, he’s too weird-looking,' or 'I want a dog that actually looks like a dog.' How incredibly superficial of you. Every single viewer watching right now who has a spare square foot in their house is actively choosing to let this little gremlin spend his life in a cage. Think about that tonight while you're eating dinner. You could be saving a life, but instead, you're choosing to be part of the problem. Big Richard is fully vaccinated, mostly house-trained, and absolutely great with toddlers. If you actually have a heart and want to fix your bad karma, contact the any of the county shelters immediately. BECAUSE THEY ALL HAVE A TON OF BIG RICHARDS.

I don’t care how Big we get in the 940 we are not here to ask for people’s money (especially at a time when most people are struggling). Wichita Falls Weather Finally Becomes Too Hot for Words
WICHITA FALLS, TX — Local meteorologists have reportedly run out of ways to describe the heat.
After exhausting terms including brutal, scorching, sweltering, and dangerously hot, forecasters have apparently given up.
During todays weather report, one meteorologist simply held up a photograph of the sun, stared into the camera, and slowly shook his head.
No further explanation was provided.
WTFN meteorologists say tomorrow’s forecast will be “Jesus Christ.”

WTFN DEPLOYS HEAT SURVIVAL TEAM

Because temperatures are expected to exceed 100 degrees, WTFN 69 has activated its highly trained Heat Survival Team, which will be stationed at Wichita Falls Brewing Company at 701 Indiana Avenue.

The Heat Survival Team has been equipped with several critical pieces of emergency equipment, including:

* Air conditioning
* Folding chairs
* Cell phones
* Sunscreen
* Multiple backup phone chargers
* A large quantity of water that nobody expects to actually drink
* And, most importantly, access to cold beer

The team will monitor the situation from the brewery and provide live updates as cyclists begin arriving.

In the event of an extreme heat emergency, WTFN reporters will immediately implement Protocol 69, which consists of ordering another round and refusing to go outside until sunset.

The WTFN Heat Survival Team will remain on location until the race is over, our reporters are asked to leave, or someone realizes we’ve been sitting there for several hours pretending to work.

As always, WTFN is probably brought to you by Montego ci******es. WTFN 69 and Montego Ci******es remind you that cigarette smoking causes serious health problems along with a rich refreshing flavor that goes down smooth.

WTFN CHANNEL 69 Proudly sponsored by Montego ci******es. — GOD GAVE WICHITA FALLS ONE COOL DAY BEFORE THROWING THE RIDERS BACK INTO HELL
Hotter’N Hell Heat returns Saturday, because apparently God wasn’t finished laughing

WICHITA FALLS, TX — In what can only be described as a cruel act of divine psychological warfare, Wichita Falls was briefly given a cool day this week with temperatures dropping below 100 degrees.
For a brief, glorious moment, residents were allowed to experience what meteorologists call “pleasant weather” and what longtime Wichita Falls residents call “something must be wrong.”
Then God apparently remembered that Saturday was Hotter’N Hell Hundred…
Temperatures are expected to climb back above 100 degrees just in time for thousands of people to climb onto bicycles and voluntarily ride around North Texas for reasons that remain unclear.
The Hotter’N Hell Hundred began in 1982 as part of Wichita Falls’ centennial celebration. Forty-five years later, the race continues, proving that some traditions simply refuse to die.
And while the event has grown into one of the largest cycling events in the country, WTFN 69 has uncovered several serious logistical questions.
For example: When exactly does this thing start?
We don't know.
When does it end?
Nobody knows.
The point is, at some point Saturday, a massive number of sweaty cyclists will simply begin emerging from the Texas countryside, and nobody will be quite sure whether they're finishing the race, escaping the race, or fleeing some sort of bicycle-related disaster.
And where is the starting line?
Look, we're journalists, not cartographers.
We know it's somewhere downtown.
We know there will be thousands of bicycles.
We know there will be a cannon.
Beyond that, we're going to need to see what happens.
Maybe you can do some damn research on your own…. Figure it out if you care so much.
The official schedule says the 2026 ride includes routes ranging from 10K all the way to the full 100-mile endurance ride.
But WTFN 69 will be taking a different approach to race coverage.
While other news organizations will be stationed along the route providing hydration updates, medical information and inspirational stories about human endurance, WTFN reporters will be stationed at Wichita Falls Brewing Company at 701 Indiana Avenue.

Why?
Because we're told the race finishes somewhere near there Saturday evening.
And frankly, if we're going to sit somewhere for several hours waiting for cyclists to finish something, we believe it should be somewhere with beer.
Our reporters will therefore be conducting an extensive investigation into several critical questions:
How hot is it?
How many cyclists are still out there?
How long can a human being remain on a bicycle in 100-degree heat?
And, most importantly:
How many beers does it take before we stop caring?
WTFN 69 will remain on location until the race is over, our reporters are asked to leave, or someone realizes we've been sitting there for several hours pretending to work.
Whichever comes first.
Welcome back, Hotter’N Hell.
May God have mercy on the cyclists.
Because He clearly isn't having any mercy on the weather.

WTFN CHANNEL 69 Proudly sponsored by Montego ci******es. — Hotter’N Hell Hundred Week Is HERE, And So Is Everyone’s Annual F**king Headache

WICHITA FALLS, TX — Hotter’N Hell Hundred week is officially HERE! 🔥🚴‍♀️ 🔫🪦

And while what feels like millions of cyclists are preparing to celebrate fitness, endurance and the human ability to willingly ride a bicycle through an oven, local residents are preparing for another beloved Wichita Falls tradition:Trying to get literally anywhere without running into some bu****it.

From Thursday through Sunday, Wichita Falls will be buzzing with activities, races, cyclists, spectators and visitors.

For everyone else, it will be buzzing with road closures, barricades, detours, confused tourists, blocked parking lots and the sudden realization that a five-minute trip across town has somehow become a 27-minute expedition.

🚲 MPEC? Busy.

🏁 Downtown? Blocked.

🚴 Bike race? Everywhere.

🚧 Roads? Good luck.

🏃 Trail run? Naturally, somehow that’s affecting traffic too.

Meanwhile, thousands of riders will descend upon Wichita Falls Saturday morning for the legendary Hotter’N Hell Hundred, where they will bravely battle 100 miles of brutal Texas heat.

Local residents will bravely battle getting to Walmart.

Both groups will suffer. Both groups will sweat. And both groups will wonder why the f**k they decided to leave the house.

☀️ Hotter’N Hell Hundred: Come for the bike race. Stay because you can’t figure out how to get home.

WTFN CHANNEL 69 Proudly sponsored by Montego ci******es.— New City Manager Named, Wichita Falls Still Has Absolutely No Idea Who This Man Is (but our extensive research suggests that he is one of these three men).

WICHITA FALLS, Texas — Following the resignation of City Manager Jeff Jenkins, the City of Wichita Falls has announced his replacement... James A. McKechnie?

Unfortunately, the announcement has done little to clear up the confusion among local residents, most of whom still couldn't identify the former city manager if he were standing directly in front of them.

“I’m sure this new guy is very qualified,” said one resident. “But honestly, this could literally be the same guy as before and I would have no idea.”

Another resident reportedly looked at a photo of the new city manager for several seconds before asking, “Is this the old guy?”

Officials say the new city manager will begin his duties shortly. Residents are encouraged to familiarize themselves with his face, although history suggests nobody will.

We Googled the name and found these three pictures of men named James A. McKechnie, we figure he's gotta be one of them
