Christmas carols have been of great value for celebration at this time of year. Besides having melodies that are upbeat, Christmas carols contain a very positive message. The words and songs of these carols used to to be heard frequently not only in church but in public places. Now they are heard much less frequently. In this podcast, we ask Sally House, Director of Music at Central Schwenkfelder Church about the positive message in Christmas carols and the worrying trend that they are being forgotten within our society at large.

As we approach the Advent and Christmas season, some are saying in our society that Jesus was not really a person. If you encounter this, we encourage you to refer to the many non-Christian sources that show his existence. I led this webinar on the "Existence of Jesus from non-Christian and early Christian sources" in 2017 through the group Forum of Christian Leaders.

In recent years, there have been some from within secular society that have claimed that Jesus did not exist. This webinar will look at non-Christian sources from Greco-Roman and Jewish sources that indicate that Jesus did exist. It will also look at the earliest sources in the New Testament that af...

Janet Epp Buckingham about these problems. As someone who is serving as the Director of the World Evangelical Alliance Geneva Office since September 2024 and previously as WEA Director of Global Advocacy, she is repeatedly raising awareness of this issue. Migration is one of the largest issues of our time. More than ever before nations and faiths are encountering each other in unexpected ways. This is taking place in Marseille, the oldest city in France. In this southern city, many from North Africa have settled bringing a different worldview. Marseille now has many Muslims who intermingle with those who are Catholic or atheist. Craig Young has been observing this trend for over 35 years. As a missionary, he has befriended those from both North African and French backgrounds. He and his wife Katie lead the church Chapelle de Fuveau (https://www.chapelledefuveau.fr/) which straddles two neighborhoods in France of different backgrounds. This podcast provides some of Craig's reflections on the intermingling of different nationalities in Marseille https://www.buzzsprout.com/1046041/episodes/17849307

How were the ancient writings that compose our Bible translated into our current English Bibles? In this podcast, we ask Dr. Scott Hafemann who was a part of the translation committee for the New International Version translation of the Bible about this process. In his answers, he speaks about the earliest English translations, the King James Version, and the New International Version. His answers also share about his experience serving on a translation committee.
