Ready for ‘em
Chasing Tides Collective is an outdoor blog hub dedicated to helping you chase your passions, despite the daily grind.
Ready for ‘em
The story goes something like this…
Ryan traveled to MA for vaca. Met up with for a quick boat ride to check out Marty’s home waters. Marty whistles 3 times and stripers appear out of nowhere. Game on. The end.
Until next time my friend 🤘
Chasing down Debby — & in New Jersey.
“Things were a bit messy in the morning with longer rights that were on the softer side.
As the day continued conditions came together and the swell organized offering up beautiful and playful offshore blue green peaks up and down the beach.
Awesome day in north jersey!”

LIVE OFF THE CLOCK
If it has “Breakfast” on the bottle, it’s okay to have a few before noon.
As you can see, we succeeded in our attempt to explore a new location for less pressured fish. So is fried chicken the best boat snack???
We are still here. New things coming!
We restored this photo from an 80s film camera. JK, that was taken last week of our resident mountain man,

Diving through old surf photos to keep the stoke alive is always fun. Whenever you're ready, waves, we are ready 🙏
Here are a few from our spring trip to a place we dubbed “influencer beach,” where top turns got zero attention.
Dear Waves, the fishing is good but we miss you.

The Fiddler Two-Step is a strategic maneuver developed over several crab-catching outings. It also works wonders as a dance move for a wedding dance circle; just leave the muddy shoes at home.
Cheers 🤘
Ingredients to make Ryan smirk: fried chicken, twitchbaits, and a cobia.

In the words of Pigpen, “We’re not models.”
A tale of two very different fishing trips while down in Costa Rica. If you find yourself in Malpais will be sure to put you on fish and minimize the risk of spilling your beer.
Bonus points if ya can guess the movie quote at the top.

Spooked a school of puppy drum on the flats; insert sad face. A peek over the shoulder reveals the tips of dark tails; insert happy face. Topwater hits the surface, and an explosion occurs; insert nervous laughter face. Gator bluefish in 2 feet of water, bucket list checked.
It's been a special few weeks of fishing here in VB. The measuring board maxed out at 32”, and this fish’s tail went well beyond.

We are thankful these big bluefish showed up in the numbers they did this year. Watching these beasts annihilate our lures in the waves is something we will never forget.
Apologies to our significant others for being wildly inaccurate with fishing time estimates several days over the past couple of weeks 😅
Big fish in shallow water is fun. That is all. Watch your toes.

FILM // CT Conversations: Jason Stick
Meet Jason Stick. He’s a husband, father of two, marketing professional, photographer, woodworker, and surfer.
We met with Jason at his home on a sunny yet chilly winter day in January to talk all things surfing, Welsh stick chairs, family, time management, and the importance of keeping your passions alive.
Enjoy the first installment of CT Conversations.
🍻cheers!
Yesterday was a day.

We battled the winds, ate bananas and fried chicken for breakfast, got soaked, made jarred venison sandwiches with piers, used a Ge**er as a key, and had a hell of a good time hooking a few good ones in the shallows.

We only have a few left in stock but we are stoked for what’s coming next!
p.s. please don’t sell this pic of Ryan’s hands on OF. Thank you.
Exactly one year and several days ago, Tim talked trash to this fish.
We hope it’s still swimming with dignity.
Journal .024 // ROCKFISH ROMP ON THE CHESAPEAKE BAY
Fall on the Chesapeake Bay is a special time of year. Running and gunning looking for quality rockfish feeding on the surface is as fun as it gets.
We made a trip up to the middle bay last fall to see if we could find some fish away from the crowds.
Good times were had. The Bay provides.

LIVE OFF THE CLOCK
Last week ranks highly in the quality time with quality people books.
We got the gang back together for the first time in forever, crashed the Brewery Tour (thanks to all of our VB friends who came out), showed Marty around Virginia Beach, had fancy cocktails, happy hour oysters, light beers, late night old bay wings, and nightcap tequila shots.
Some specifics: Nick came in hot off of an 84-hour fast and got drunk first, Ryan conversated real good, Tim tried to like Mezcal, and Marty taught us about the finer points of “fat washing” a cocktail, what the hell crudo is, and the essentials for a New England steam pot.
What a time.
Special thanks to for making Virginia Beach a stop on the brewery tour. Badfish is slinging awesome new tackle and apparel, so make sure to catch them as the tour rolls on and follow them for new product drops.
Cheers
LIVE OFF THE CLOCK
We’re crashing the BADFISH BREWERY TOUR tonight 4:00-7:00 at NEW REALM BREWING CO.
Gear, beer, & good times
Hope to see you there!
Cheers 🤘
