Imagine your life being a representation of the following hadith...

Anas ibn Malik reported: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said, “Whoever is concerned about the Hereafter, Allah will place richness in his heart, bring his affairs together, and the world will inevitably come to him. Whoever is concerned about the world, Allah will place poverty between his eyes, disorder his affairs, and he will get nothing of the world but what is decreed for him.”

(Source: Sunan al-Tirmidhī 2465)

What will your legacy be?

What will be your status with Allah?

Likes, shares, comments, replies, views, engagements, impressions, reposts, the list goes on.

None of these can ever be a replacement for real life interaction with people.

Introvert, extrovert, ambivert or omnivert, at the end of the day we are human.

We need other humans in our life.

Allah knew that.

That's why He installed the means for us to touch base with others, not just in body but also in spirit, for His sake.

"And hold firmly together to the rope of Allah and do not be divided. Remember Allah’s favour upon you when you were enemies, then He united your hearts, so you—by His grace—became brothers. And you were at the brink of a fiery pit and He saved you from it. This is how Allah makes His revelations clear to you, so that you may be ˹rightly˺ guided."

Qur'an 3:103

What is it that makes you want to do good? Why do you like to see goodness?

The reality is that's the sincerity within you towards Allah and His Messenger ﷺ.

Allah ﷻ only wants sincerity. He wants us to be honest with Him — that when we worship Him or sacrifice for His sake, we do it purely for His sake.

He doesn't want a prayer with mixed intentions — partially for His sake, and partially for people to see your prayer.

He doesn't want you to give in charity partially for His sake, and partially for people to praise you for your generosity.

Devote yourself completely to Him, and follow the path of His Beloved Messenger ﷺ.

Doomscroll disorder?
That empty feeling when you've scrolled for longer than you can count and somehow a whole hour just passed by.

You know it.

You feel hopeless, confused, sad, lost. Then you start to think, what's wrong with me?
Do I have depression?
Do I have ADHD?
Can I ever find happiness?

The truth is, there may be some among us who actually do need to seek professionals, so we're not diagnosing anyone.

But, what if most of us are suffering from the endless bombardment of the doomscroll?

What if it's something we have complete control over?

How does Islam deal with our dopamine cycles?

Some people feel regret and do nothing about it.

Others right their wrongs, and end up doing more good than all the bad they've ever done.

For as long as you are alive, you can turn back to Allah.

You can start this life on ruin and sin, and leave it in honour and piety.

When we get sick, we look for the right medicine. When our car breaks down, we look for the right mechanic. When our computer stops working, we call up the IT guy.

Why does that change when it comes to Islam, though?

Why is it that those that those who criticise Islam and Muslims don't look to what actually happened in Islamic history?

Take it as a rule for life.

Just as you go after the professionals in every field to give you the right answers, go to the source with regards to your faith, your identity, and your history as well.

You could be worshipping Allah or sinning against Him just based on how much you eat.

"Your health before your sickness..."

Our beloved Messenger ﷺ told the truth.

We often think of the poor to be unhealthy and weak.

But the reality is, overeating is what's making so many of us weaker.

We have partial ownership of our bodies, not complete freedom to eat and drink however much we want.

Our bodies were built to serve Allah SWT and worship Him as He deserves to be worshipped.

Food is meant to fuel us, not poison us.

In our lives, we chase so many different titles: doctor, engineer, lawyer, entrepreneur, professor, shaykh, pharmacist, CEO, head manager, and the list goes on...

But what if, by design and by default, you have already been given the best title a person can ever be given: the slave of Allah?

Allah has given us the status of calling us His " 'Ibād", His Slaves.

If we truly understood how great an honour this is, we would never be unsatisfied. Rather, we would be content with Allah and turn to Him with absolute love and devotion

The very real reality is, if a person let's themselves go, they cannot be surprised if they fall into hypocrisy...

Abdullah ibn Mas’ud reported: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said, “Beware of minor sins. Verily, they pile upon a man until he is ruined.”

Source: Musnad Aḥmad 3808

For as long as a person is aware of the danger of hypocrisy, and that they do things for Allah's sake, they will be saved, In Shaa' Allaah.

Your Lord leaves no stone unturned.

Allah, in His Great Wisdom, Absolute Knowledge and Complete Mercy, wishes to teach His slaves and bring them towards guidance in the best of ways.

Among the ways He does this is by establishing brilliant examples in the Qur'an that we call أمثال — parables.

Through these parables, we are able to understand the importance of the matter that He is telling us about.

Such is the Greatness of Allah, who made all matters clear for His slaves
