I asked my friend Steve Andrews to write me a piece about Data centres. This is what he came up with.

Although there's no data centre currently being proposed for Whitstable, there are a number in Kent, and a new one being proposed in Broad Oak/Sturry, plus we have a data centre commissioning company on the John Wilson business park.

Included in this article are a couple of petitions: one a general petition against data centres, and one against the new one in Sturry.

Also included, a very informative video.

In case you haven't figured out what's going on: this is late capitalist colonisation of our planet and infrastructure. Combine the proliferation of data centres with the growth of AI corporations such as Palantir, and you have the prospect of techno-fascism forming before our very eyes. Data centres are the hardware, Palantir are the software, for a new corporate surveillance state.
