Democracy is strengthened by dialogue, not by silence.

The voice of the people deserves to be heard. Peaceful protest is a democratic right, and ignoring genuine concerns only weakens the values our Constitution stands for.

As Sonam Wangchuk's health continues to deteriorate during his indefinite hunger strike, it is imperative for the Union Government to initiate meaningful dialogue and address the concerns of the people of Ladakh with sincerity and urgency.

A strong democracy listens before it reacts. Let compassion, constitutional values, and constructive engagement prevail over indifference.

Atheism is increasingly being presented by some as an alternative worldview, almost like a new religion. At the same time, the word **"humanity"** is sometimes used to suggest that religion is unnecessary or inherently opposed to human values. That is a false choice.

Humanity is not separate from religion; it is one of the values that religions teach. Every major religion encourages compassion, justice, honesty, kindness, and respect for others. When people commit inhumane acts, it reflects their failure to follow their religion's teachings—not the teachings themselves.

The real need today is not less religion, but a better understanding and practice of religion. Religion is far broader than the single concept of humanity. It provides moral guidance, spiritual purpose, accountability, discipline, and principles for both individual and social life.

Instead of using "humanity" to undermine religion, we should promote the true teachings of religion, because genuine religious values and humanity are not enemies—they complement each other.

ART IS NOT A CRIME. EXPRESSION IS NOT A THREAT.

The erasure of artist Marshell Baruah's mural depicting Assam's beloved cultural icon Zubeen Garg is not merely the removal of a painting—it is an attack on artistic expression, cultural identity, and democratic values.

A wall can be repainted, but ideas cannot be erased.

The people of Assam have every democratic right to express their opinions, protest peacefully, and stand in solidarity with artists whose voices represent the emotions and aspirations of society. Targeting an artist and summoning him for actions connected to public expression raises serious concerns about freedom of expression and the shrinking space for democratic dissent.

We strongly condemn every attempt to silence artistic voices and suppress peaceful democratic protest.

They may erase a drawing, but they cannot erase Zubeen Garg from the hearts of the people of Assam.

INJUSTICE TO ART IS INJUSTICE TO DEMOCRACY.

Let Art Breathe. Let Democracy Live.
