๐‘ฐ๐’•๐’‚๐’๐’‚๐’ˆ๐’‚๐’“, ๐‘ด๐’‚๐’š 2: In a major crackdown under its ongoing โ€œOperation All Out,โ€ the Itanagar Police has intensified its fight against drug trafficking, targeting not just local peddlers but also interstate supply chains.

Over the past one and a half months, the police have registered six NDPS cases related to he**in, arrested six accused peddlers and carriers, and seized around 120 grams of suspected he**in from various locations across the Capital Region.

Investigations into these cases revealed a consistent pattern indicating that the narcotics were being sourced from Assam and trafficked into Itanagar through inter-state networks. Acting on intelligence inputs, technical surveillance, and sustained interrogation, police identified a key suspected supplier as Ruful Amin (31), a resident of Kekokali Nepali in Assamโ€™s Sonitpur district.

In a coordinated operation conducted today with the Jamuguri Police Station in Sonitpur, Assam, Ruful Amin was apprehended from Jamuguri. During the operation, an intermediate quantity of suspected he**in was recovered from his possession, leading to the registration of a separate case at Jamuguri Police Station.

Police officials stated that the case registered in Assam is a direct result of intelligence developed by the Itanagar Police, highlighting effective inter-state coordination and strategic policing efforts.

The superintendent of Police (Capital) praised the team for their achievement and reaffirmed the departmentโ€™s commitment to dismantling drug networks by targeting supply chains at their source through intelligence-led operations and collaborative action across state boundaries.

๐‘ฐ๐’•๐’‚๐’๐’‚๐’ˆ๐’‚๐’“, ๐‘จ๐’‘๐’“๐’Š๐’ 30: Capital Police foiled an illegal cattle transportation attempt during a late-night naka operation at Baath Village in the early hours of Wednesday, arresting three accused and rescuing six cattle.

According to police, a Chimpu Police Station team, assisted by CRPF personnel, spotted a suspicious Ertiga (AS-01-BW-5707) around 2:40 AM attempting to breach the naka at high speed. Despite repeated signals to stop, the driver allegedly rammed the police party in a bid to escape. The team, however, pursued and intercepted the vehicle, though the occupants initially fled under the cover of darkness.

During the incident, SI Tate Nabam sustained a head injury while Constable J. Libang suffered a leg injury. Both are currently undergoing treatment at RKM Hospital, Itanagar.

On inspection, police found six cattle being transported in a cruel and inhumane condition, leading to the death of one cow due to suffocation. A preliminary investigation revealed that the cattle had been stolen from the Bessarnillo area under Balijan Police Station and were being transported towards Banderdewa for slaughter and illegal meat trade.

Police suspect the involvement of a well-organized interstate cattle theft network operating along the Arunachal Pradeshโ€“Assam border. The accused are reportedly linked to previous cases in Itanagar as well as in Bongalmara and Bihpuria in Assam.

Following a manhunt, two accusedโ€”Dilbag Hussain and Anarul Haqueโ€”were apprehended. Another accused, Ashok Yangfo of Banderdewa, was arrested for allegedly receiving stolen cattle and facilitating illegal sales.

A case (Chimpu PS Case No. 33/2026) has been registered under multiple sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act, and the Motor Vehicles Act. Further investigation is underway to nab other absconding members and dismantle the network.

Superintendent of Police Jummar Basar commended the bravery and professionalism of the Chimpu Police team led by SI Tate Nabam, along with SDPO Chera Saban and Inspector N. Nishant for their swift action.
Capital Police reaffirmed its commitment to cracking down on organized crime and ensuring public safety.
