Eco Park Project Launched at Noap Gaon, MLA Pamin Lepcha Reaffirms Focus on Green Development

Pakyong, 11 Feb : A new chapter in sustainable development began in the 21–Gnathang Machong Constituency as the Bhumi Puja ceremony for the proposed Nagar Vatika Park (Eco Park) was held at Noap Gaon (Dhupi Dara) on Tuesday morning.

The ceremony was attended by area MLA Smt. Pamin Lepcha, who described the project as a significant step toward environmentally responsible and community-oriented growth. The upcoming eco park is expected to promote health, fitness, and eco-friendly recreation in the Pakyong region, creating a green space for residents while encouraging an active and healthy lifestyle.

The initiative is being implemented under the guidance of Chief Minister Prem Singh Tamang (Golay), with support from Forest, Environment and Wildlife Management Minister Shri Pintso Namgyal Lepcha. Senior officials, including Secretary-cum-PCCF Dr. Pradeep Kumar (IFS) and the Forest Department team, are overseeing the project’s ex*****on.

Local representatives and officials present at the event included Pakyong Yakten GPU Panchayat President Ms. Sarita Bhusal, Panchayat Members Rakesh Basnett, Sarita Chettri, Yakila Kazi, and Ramesh Gurung, DFO (T) Forest Pakyong Sonam Pintso Bhutia, RO Y.N. Pradhan, along with other departmental officers, SKM party representatives, and members of the public.

Speaking on the occasion, MLA Lepcha emphasized that such initiatives reflect the government’s commitment to balancing development with environmental conservation. She noted that the park would serve as a space for recreation while safeguarding the region’s natural heritage for future generations.

Later in the day, the MLA visited the District Administrative Centre (DAC) in Pakyong to hold a review meeting on various administrative matters. The meeting was conducted in the presence of Pakyong Deputy Commissioner Agawane Rohan Ramesh (IAS) and other district officials.

The launch of the eco park project underscores ongoing efforts to promote sustainable infrastructure and community well-being in the 21–Gnathang Machong Constituency.

Pakyong’s Aayush Dhakal Shines with Bronze at MR FLEX 2026 Bodybuilding Championship

TVS Report, 3 Feb : 23-year-old Aayush Dhakal from Assam Lingzey, Pakyong has brought pride to the region by clinching the Bronze Medal in the 55–60 kg category at the renowned MR FLEX 2026 Bodybuilding Championship, held on 1 February 2026 at Agrasen Bhawan, Jaigaon. Regarded as one of the largest bodybuilding events in North Bengal, the championship drew elite competitors from multiple regions.

A final-year B.Com student at Nar Bahadur Bhandari Government College (NBBGC), Tadong, Aayush has emerged as a fine example of how academic pursuits and competitive sports can go hand in hand. His achievement reflects disciplined time management, focus, and determination.

For the past two years, Aayush has trained rigorously at Muscle Bar – Gym and Fitness Studio, Jalipool, Saramsa, where structured training programs, expert mentorship, and relentless effort helped him develop a competition-ready physique. On stage, he impressed judges with his balance, confidence, and conditioning while competing against experienced bodybuilders.

This bronze medal is not merely a sporting result but the outcome of months of intense workouts, disciplined nutrition, and mental toughness. The achievement is further strengthened by the constant support of his parents, Youraj Dhakal and Sita Sharma, whose encouragement has played a vital role in his journey.

Adding to his growing list of accolades, Aayush had earlier secured a Bronze Medal at the Mr. Sukhim Tournament last year, underlining his consistent rise in the sport. The Northern Boundary begins from 200ft above the Soreng-Kaluk S.P.W.D Road, running downwards along Ghanti Khola until it reaches Lower Singling Road.
Ward Delimitations
The notification further details the internal division of the Soreng Nagar Panchayat into five specific wards, all falling under the 7-Soreng-Chakung Assembly Constituency:
1. Singling Ward (01): Bounded by Lower Singling Road to the South, Rothak Khola to the West, and Ghanti Khola to the East and North.
