Pakyong, Sep 01 : Abhista Basnett, a talented 14-year-old footballer from Sikkim’s Pakyong District, has been named the Most Valuable Player (MVP) at the SAFF U-17 Women’s Championship 2025. Her exceptional performance was a key factor in India’s triumphant campaign, which saw the team lift the championship trophy.
Throughout the tournament in Bhutan, Basnett showcased her immense talent by scoring four goals and providing three assists. This impressive contribution not only highlights her skills but also signals a promising future for women’s football in both Sikkim and India.
