Rashad Bilal’s recent comments about Invest Fest have started a bigger conversation than just who attends the conference.
For years, Invest Fest has grown largely through the support of Black entrepreneurs, creators, investors and professionals. At the same time, its founders have consistently positioned the event around business, financial education, investing and wealth-building — subjects that aren’t limited to one community.
So here’s the real conversation:
If an event is built and supported primarily by Black culture, does expanding to a broader audience change what it represents?
Can Invest Fest grow into a global business conference without losing the community that helped make it successful?
And would you feel differently if the messaging had always been “an event for everyone, built from Black culture”?
We want to hear the conversation — not just the headline.
