Here’s my entry for the .cc contest! Thank you to my followers who voted on pics and helped me decide. It’s not easy to pick a few representative photos when you are surrounded by great riders!

Last year I had the opportunity to fly to California for Stark Week and the 420 jam and got the idea in my head that being a pro photographer and traveling to MTB events would be a phenomenal career change (or retirement activity). I’m not a very experienced photographer, but it’s been a joy to learn and grow and I sincerely appreciate all the feedback from those I’ve captured over the last four years 🫶

If you want to know where I have been, and why you don’t see me working on Tunnel Vision anymore, it’s because I’m exhausted and irritated and some people frankly don’t deserve my time.

I started this project in 2021 and have put literally over a thousand hours personally into this asset for local riders in south Austin. I’ve been joined by over 30 volunteers here and there, all dedicating a ton of effort - and money - into something we assumed people could be proud of. But we’ve experienced so much disrespect starting with the surron dicks, and then from within our own community with unsupervised and frankly arrogant teens building new lines without discussing with the rest of the builders here.

So basically we’re over it. We’re not sure who punched a hole in the water tank. Could be a rider, could be a hiker. It doesn’t matter. It’s the last straw.

Thanks to everyone who helped. Wish we had a better community that appreciated it.

Thank you to everyone who came out to support the bike park and the amazing work that has been doing to create the sickest freeride/slopestyle dirt jumps and trails in the state. Rider photos from Boats n Flows and the long jump are now live via the link in my bio. Since I was helping sponsor this event these photos will be free to download, but please consider a small donation to Dirtworks RPR.

Small reminder that I am available for private shoots if you need me ;)

I’m so unstoppable now. Time to start carrying long tools on like every ride, all of my camera gear at once, and also harassing Group 1 at Crank N Drank. Thanks for the smokin’ deal on the whip! 🤝

Now every time I see a hill I’m gonna wonder “whats up there” instead of what I usually do which is cry.

My friend Clint is building his own private playground and training compound on his property and he invited the crew to be part of that journey. Although he has a few different lines planned down the hillside, the first project is clearing space for the future 20x36x9’ airbag that will be a major tool to help us progress as riders.

I am incredibly excited to be part of the build, especially when it means playing with heavy machines. With the amount of backbreaking digging that Clint and I have put into projects like the bowie jumps, we feel we have earned it!

I’m also shooting tons of footage of this project for a future build log ;)

I’m trying to make photography my day job - seriously - so I’m incredibly grateful when talented riders like and are willing to wait on me while I fuss with settings and strobe placements to capture shots like these! Thank you to the homies for throwing down some epic tricks, cranked, clicked, and so dialed. Also thank you to .cine for reaching out and coming to shoot video it was great to meet you! Stoked to see your footage!
I’ll do another group shoot/practice session soon. I have some more creative ideas i’d like to try. If anyone wants a one-on-one session let me know and we can talk about price. I also have the ability to print photos at 13x19 and make custom frames in the shop so you can end up with something you are proud to hang on the wall 😉

A simple and cheap solution for temporary and reusable route marking! A pack of binder clips, some zip ties, and a roll of flagging tape - plus about an hour of work - is all it takes to make 60 temporary clip on markers. To make the bits of streamers I wrapped the roll of flagging tape around the legs of a barstool before making two snips. I didn’t care to count how many individual streamers were in the bundle, but it was more than enough. Grab them in bunches of five, pull them through the binder clip, then zip tie the bundle together.

As you make them, clip them to a rope with a knot on both ends to keep them from sliding off. This will become your marker sash! Peak fashion, this boa allows you to wear the markers around your neck for quick-fire route marking and easy peasy cleanup afterwards. No fussing with a backpack or baggie of tangled up markers!

Please note: these are not reflective, so only appropriate for daytime events. Also, for some reason deer love munching on flagging tape, so be sure to pull these down after the event. I mean, you should be doing that anyway, right?
