Taos has always been a place for artists, adventurers, and people looking to reconnect with something a little slower and more soulful. And according to local insider of Hotel Willa, the magic isn’t just in the landscape — it’s in the community, creativity, and rhythm of daily life here.

Whether you’re planning a summer escape, or just craving a little Southwest inspiration, this is the kind of itinerary that makes you want to book the trip immediately.

Here’s how to do 24 hours in Taos right.

Morning — E-Bike Tour Half-day e-bike tour through Taos’s back roads, past the San Francisco de Asís Church and historic plazas. Six guests maximum. Departs Hotel Willa at 8:30AM, Tue–Sun, April through October. Ends at Taos Cow for ice cream made with New Mexican ingredients. Book ahead.

Afternoon — .hotelwilla Indigenous-owned, hyper-local, rated the number one restaurant in Taos right now. The green chile burger comes with beef-fat fries. The mezcal margaritas are rimmed in what the menu calls “very nice salt.” The courtyard is reason enough to linger.

Late Afternoon — Vintage finds and restored furniture up front. A master tailor building bespoke suits from scratch in the back. On Kit Carson Road, across from the Benedictine monks.

Evening — Chef-owned restaurant just north of Taos with outdoor patios facing Taos Mountain. The wine shop next door has 700+ bottles available at your table. Open Tue–Sat from 4PM. Grab a bottle for later.

Where to Stay — A reimagined 1940s motor lodge with a 70-year-old willow tree in the courtyard, Juliette inside, and a rotating artist-in-residence program. T+L and Esquire Best New Hotels 2026. Pet-friendly.

There’s something endlessly romantic about an old Palm Springs ranch house.

The low-slung lines. The desert light. The feeling that generations of dinner parties, pool days, and long weekends somehow linger in the walls. This 1930s ranch-style home in Palm Springs’ historic Smoke Tree Ranch community had all the right bones — it just needed a thoughtful return to its roots.

Designer Emily Hancock of .interiors reimagined the once-dated home into a warm, layered retreat that honors classic California ranch architecture while making room for modern living. Think expansive indoor-outdoor flow, mountain views, sun-washed textures, and spaces designed for gathering.

Sometimes the best renovations aren’t about reinventing a home, they’re about rediscovering what made it special in the first place. Head to Sunset.com for the full tour.

Heading to the Grand Canyon this summer? These are the must-stays to book now.

Because once the sun drops behind the canyon walls and the day-trippers leave, the entire landscape transforms. The air cools, the crowds disappear, and the canyon feels quieter, moodier, and even more surreal.

From historic cabins perched steps from the rim to cozy lodge stays with fireplaces, canyon-view balconies, and apartment-style setups perfect for longer adventures, these are the spots that make you want to linger a little longer.

Trust us: a Grand Canyon day trip is good. Staying overnight is unforgettable.

A well-designed home should feel as good as it looks — and sometimes the most important design elements are the ones you rarely see.

When Amber Lewis of Amber Interiors upgraded the HVAC system in her Southern California renovation, she partnered with American Standard Heating & Air Conditioning to create a home built around comfort, performance, and long-term efficiency.

Known for over a century of engineering expertise, American Standard systems are designed to handle everyday living with quiet, reliable performance. Amber selected the AccuComfort™ Variable Speed Platinum 20 Heat Pump for its ability to automatically adjust heating and cooling throughout the day — helping to maintain a consistent indoor temperature while reducing energy use.

From hot California afternoons to cool evening temperatures, the right HVAC system works behind the scenes to make everyday living feel effortless.
