I’ve been a huge fan since my college days, so this was a pretty special one. Got to sneak in a creek session with Matt (), Caamp’s bassist, before their SLC show yesterday. He’s been diving headfirst into fly fishing over the past few years and has been finding fish at just about every stop on tour. Matt’s one of the nicest dudes you’ll meet, and both of his music projects (Wonderfool & Caamp) are some of my all-time favorites. Grateful I got to show him a little slice of Utah and fool a couple cutties on the 3-weights.

If you haven’t seen live yet, do yourself a favor and grab a ticket. The boys are on fire right now!

And the ‘Big Horse’ completes another lap around the sun…

Over the past year, Ivan () has played an integral part in so many Wild Fly projects. From pointing cameras, pushing buttons, and poking fish on some epic trips; to color grading into the wee hours of the morn — our Slavic stallion truly puts the ‘work’ in ‘workhorse.’ Even when the bite is tough and the batteries are drained, Ivan’s unbridled energy always seems to get us back in the saddle.

Please join us in wishing our dear friend Ivan a very happy birthday! We hope this year’s the best one yet.
