Man City 3-2 Leeds | Foden Last-Minute Magic
Manchester City edged Leeds United 3-2 in a dramatic Etihad clash, with Phil Foden delivering a match-winning performance. City struck almost instantly, as Foden finished a slick move inside the first minute, before Josko Gvardiol doubled the lead from a well-worked corner. Leeds looked overwhelmed early, but Daniel Farke’s bold half-time changes — introducing Jaka Bijol and Dominic Calvert-Lewin and shifting to a 5-3-2 — completely transformed the visitors.
Calvert-Lewin pulled one back shortly after the restart, and Leeds grew in confidence. Their pressure paid off when Lukas Nmecha converted a rebound from his saved penalty to level the game. City, rattled by Leeds’ direct approach and improved structure, struggled to regain control.
But Foden rescued his side again in the 90th minute, weaving through the box and firing home a superb winner. The result snapped City’s two-game losing run, while Farke’s proactive adjustments offered Leeds renewed optimism despite the defeat.
