I'm Kate Zittergruen, and I've lived in Colorado for 8 years. I've lived in Colorado Springs, Fort Collins, and Boulder, and I've traveled all over the state! BOLDER BOULDER 10K 🌞

still can’t get over how much fun the was yesterday! A month ago, I hoped to attempt a PR in this race. But I knew as the day came closer (and my bronchitis turned into pneumonia 🤒) that I’d just be lucky to make it to the start line.

thankfully I felt much better on race day morning and surprised myself by being able to jog most of the race! I finished with a chip time of 1:18:04 - and got to check off eating an ice cream cone during a race🍦

I’ve got another race coming up very soon that I’m excited to share more about - stay tuned!! 🏃‍♀️

highlights include my first ever climbing class (learned so much from .droz & the badass women in my top rope circle over our 6 weeks together!), climbing the cutest tree route for earth day, & an excuse to adventure over to the Golden gym this morning for my first meetup 💕 so fun!!

BOULDER REZ HALF 💕 what a blast!!

such a scenic & fun course at the boulder rez half marathon yesterday!! it was more trail than i realized and my watch clocked almost 600 ft of gain! i tried out a run/walk pacing strategy that worked very well for the first 8 miles, then switched it up the last 5 miles as it got hotter to get my HR under control and finish strong 🏃‍♀️ not a PR this time but my 5th fastest half - and I’m proud I pushed myself to run hard! 🙌

another training block comes to an end 🏃‍♀️

Excited to run my 11th half marathon on Saturday - the Boulder Rez Half Marathon - which I’ve been looking forward to as it’s a relatively flat course for Boulder, less than a 10 minute drive away, & looking like high 40’s/low 50’s & overcast for race morning 🙌

I’m planning to race this a little more strategically using a 9:1 run/walk method & see if I can swing a PR if everything aligns 👀 stay tuned & wish me luck!
