We helped our great friends at the Gilmore Piano Festival document piano selection for their 2022 festival in Kalamazoo, Michigan and in doing do so, we chatted with the incomparable Yuja Wang about how to select a Steinway for a performance. Her process is fascinating and something to witness.

I started contributing to an iStock/Getty Images account a couple years ago. We (Frantic Studio) have about 4,000 photos now available. Occasionally I would submit photos of my dog "Cowboy". Today I wondered how many I actually had and was a little surprised. Andy Warhol had Edie Sedgewick, George Harrison had Patti Boyd...so here’s Cowboy - one stock photo at a time. =)

When it came time to prepare for the 2022 Festival, we couldn’t think of a better way to celebrate the return of live music than with a trip to the New York Steinway & Sons factory to select the instruments for ourselves. Watch 2006 Gilmore Young Artist, Yuja Wang pick out the Model D piano she will be using during her April 8, 2022 performance (and then get your ticket for her concert: https://tickets.thegilmore.org/22881/22882 😉!)
