Francis Harris: Minor Forms (Valentino Mora Underwater Rephase)

Valentino Mora takes Francis Harris' Minor Forms into new waters with his Underwater Rephase, released in 2014. The remix pulses with low-end pressure, its kick driving forward while shifting textures ripple across the surface. Mora’s treatment opens the track into a wide, fluid space, where the groove breathes and expands without losing clarity.

It’s a version where Harris musical visions meets Mora’s rhythmic focus. A track that still carries weight in the booth and beyond, marking it as this week’s classic.

A springy bass line is accompanied by celestial synths that envelop the senses, making this psychedelic cut primed for after hours devastation. Years on, it still holds its glow, earning a place in our Classic of the week selection.

This week's classic is based on a grounded house groove that characterizes the track through progressive changes in tone and atmosphere. Steve Bug's remix of Francis Harris' “Pensum” appeared on Leland Remixes Vol. 2 and is still as sharp as it was when it was released. The song is rich in detail and remains a highlight of this era, a track that still retains meaning to this day. Another favorite that has more than earned its place in our “Classic of the Week” selection.

Francis Harris - Living Lips (Kate Simko Remix)

Kate Simko's remix of “Living Lips” flows with a smooth consistency, each chord casting a gentle glow while the low end circles beneath. The piano fits harmoniously into the mix, giving the track its calm center. The track was released in 2012, as part of “Leland Remixes Volume 1” and still projects a natural warmth that fills the room.

A timeless gem that definitely deserves its spot in our Classic of the week selection.

each of the three releases features one of mine on the A side and a remix by Frank & Tony on the flip. the F&T remix is absolutely killer - do not sleep.

the output of Frank & Tony / Scissor & Thread has been at the core of my ambient and deep house listening since i first started collecting records and i am still in shock to be welcomed onto their catalogue. to be having a cultural exchange with the house music of new york means a lot to me as the sounds my ears lean into certainly draw from the US, where i briefly went to school and have since spent a decent amount of time.

im mega depresso atm, so i’m gassed to be throwing some forlorn dance music into the nightmare rectangle."

Desert Sound Colony - Iris

Desert Sound Colony brilliantly scores a nostalgic journey through the proverbial looking glass. „Iris“ carries us further inward with scattered claps and a skipping kick, before releasing us into a deep, chugging, eyes wide shut, euphoric roller.

The melodies feel soft edged and clear. The rhythm carries weight, guiding everything into a beautiful shape. The track settles in slowly and once it does, it stays with you. Still one of the most immersive cuts in Desert Sound Colony’s early work, and clearly part of must adds in our Classic of the week selection.

DaRand Land - Souls Awash moves with a laidback yet dynamic motion. The bassline coils beneath the surface, steering a rhythmic current that feels grounded and alive. Pads rise and fade in slow motion, while flickers of detail hover at the edge of perception. The groove draws you in layer by layer, unfolding with quiet certainty.

Released on the Discover You EP via Scissor & Thread in 2016, it remains one of Land’s most immersive cutsatmospheric, physical, and finely tuned. A standout track and perfect addition to our Classic of the week selection
