It might be the shortest NYFW ever, but this season’s five-day circuit is overflowing with must-see talent.

From September 10 to 15, we’re expecting a fresh coterie of brands queuing the fashion week schedule with a bang, from London-based wunderkind Conner Ives, who’s kicking off his inaugural stateside homecoming, to Los-Angeles darling Ella Mae, ushering in her East Coast era. Joining them are indie names from this year’s CFDA Fashion Fund lineup. Celeb-favorite designers, including Zoe Gustavia Anna Whalen, Miss Clare Sullivan, and Andrew Curwen, are either making their official debut at, or making their highly-anticipated return to, fashion week. The world was waiting for Ciarán — he just didn’t know it.

The world first met him as Bearface from BROCKHAMPTON. After years of silence, he’s finally ready to release of his debut album, Róisín (out November 6). Much to his surprise, fans were eagerly anticipating it.

In his first in-depth interview, (ciarán) talked with The FADER about the long road to Róisín, coming up in Belfast, the early days of BROCKHAMPTON, and sticking to his artistic vision.

‘Hotties’ the animated series is OTW.

In a recent interview with InStyle, Megan Megan Thee Stallion revealed she’s been working on an anime-style television series in collaboration with ‘Boondocks’ producer Carl Jones (Carl Jones). In the show, Megan voices her own character, though she says voice acting isn’t quite as easy as recording a hit song. Megan originally announced the series back in 2025 at Dreamcon and has said ‘Hotties’ will feature “bad bi***es, fly clothes, cool ass hairstyles, ass whoopin, storytelling, and character arc development.”

The 22-year-old Harlem polymath dropped out after eighth grade, taught himself to sing on GarageBand, and now he’s got Tyler, the Creator in his corner and a Camp Flog Gnaw Carnival slot in November. On his new album ‘A Sunflower Garden In Harlem Is Hard To Find’, he’s chasing something harder than a sad song: “If you wanna rap about some s**t like that and have somebody cry, it can be hard to do that.”

Leo Strang and Jake Pretorious have grown First Class Fest into one of North America’s premiere rap festivals – and it all started when they were 19. In the four years since Strang and Pretorious put on the inaugural First Class Fest, the Canadian showcase’s reputation and scale has only grown.

Erykah Badu for The FADER (2001)

In 2001, aka IMEHO - we dont buy bots - all organic told The FADER what freedom means to her: “Freedom means to me, just wanting to be creative and be yourself... Just wanting to-not that you’re already there. But just having the will to—that’s what freedom is to me.”

25 years later and she’s never strayed away from that definition. In fact, Badu just dropped her first studio album in 16 years: ‘Before the World Blows: The Abi and Alan Experiment,’ a collab project with Alchemist “Witch Doctor” is effortlessly smooth with soft-textured rhythms and classically silky delivery, while “Next To You” approaches similarly poignant themes with more psychedelic production. The FADER’s favorite track from the record is “Crossfade,” a skin-tingling reverie about mismatched love.

Badu and The Alchemist will be touring this September across North America.

It’s been 6 years since ‘Chilombo’ and Jhené Aiko Efuru Chilombo 🔮 is finally back.

Aiko announced her fourth studio album, ‘Westside Whimsy,’ arrives Friday, September 11. Outside of her lullaby projects and scattered singles, her most recent notable appearance was alongside Larry June on “California Dream”.

For The Eiffels, the sweet spot lies somewhere between a dive bar and a glossy nightclub dance floor. Frontman Sean Ulbs and bassist Jade Michael have spent the better part of a decade making the kind of music that works in both rooms at once. Playing on stages from Vans Warped Tour to Firefly Music Festival and opening for the likes of X Ambassadors and Plain White T’s, Ulbs credits platforms like BandLab and ReverbNation with giving the band the kind of exposure that opened a lot of those doors in the first place. “As independent artists, we’re always looking for new tools and access to opportunities we might not otherwise have. We’ve been using BandLab since the beginning,”

Our latest GEN F star, Liim(leem) Lasalle, is in full bloom. . Liim was more primed for this archival affection than most. Born in 2003 and raised by a Muslim immigrant mother in Harlem, he grew up without cable and would often watch the movies, television, and music videos his father grew up with. But there was no escapism to it: The realities on the screen were eerily similar to the world he was navigating as a Black person at the turn of the century. Early on, Liim recognized how his interest in alternative things like skateboarding, combined with growing up in a home that didn’t allow any music, isolated him from his peers while also putting him on the path to create. Singing was an important outlet for him, one that would bring him peace during the harshest moments of childhood. Now the 22-year-old polymath wants you to cry to his music.

His sophomore album, ‘A Sunflower Garden In Harlem Is Hard To Find’ is out now.
