🏳️‍🌈 Cincinnati made history with the creation of its first LGBTQIA+ Commission — a meaningful step toward representation and inclusion
But Documenters didn’t stop at the celebration.

📝 They raised important follow‑up questions:
Why were multiple reports, ordinances, and motions listed on the agenda but never addressed?

⁉️Why was the City Manager absent without acknowledgment during a meeting where her role was expected to be central?

⁉️And perhaps most importantly — when public comment is critical, but the meeting tone is celebratory… is council truly listening to its residents?

These questions matter because they speak to transparency, accountability, and trust in local government.

💡 Cincinnati Public School leaders are tackling tough questions about the future of local school funding — but also celebrating progress.

🏫 At this February meeting, the board heard positive updates on new facilities, sustainability efforts, and enrollment improvements.

💬 However tightened financial pressures mean hard choices are ahead: Treasurer Michael Gustin warned of a possible $101 million deficit by 2030 if cuts aren’t made.

📊 From energy efficiency to equity in magnet enrollment, every decision now shapes how Cincinnati schools grow and serve the community.

The new Youth & Human Services Committee focuses on various issues related to youth and human services, including youth issues and expanding employment opportunities, collaboration with local organizations and more.

📝 This meeting documented by J.Frazier Smith spotlighted the state of Black homeownership in Cincinnati.

🏠 Both The Greater Cincinnati Association of Realtists (GCRA)and Housing Opportunities Made Eauql (HOME) shared data showing how difficult buying a home remains for many Black families.

📉 The numbers weren’t favorable — and the committee is now exploring solutions with community partners.
