Did you see the quads in the Driftless Journal today?
Someone just called to inform us that they are "in fact cows not sheep" like the article stated. What do you think?
Spoiler alert they are sheep!
Hannah Breckbill of Humble Hands Harvest recently announced that “Tanhead”, an ewe, gave birth, unassisted, to quadruplet lambs on May 28. Humble Hands Harvest has a flock of 17 ewes that are entirely grass fed, rotationally grazed on perennial pastures throughout the summer and fed hay in the winter. Typically ewes give birth to twins, though Breckbill said the organization consistently has a number of triplets as well. “We typically lamb in early May, so every sheep had already lambed except for Tanhead,” Breckbill said. “Each ewe only has two teats, so it's really impressive that Tanhead is able to take good care of each one of her four lambs. She's always been a good mama, with a great temperament, and is one of our favorite sheep.”
