Daisys 1st 4th of July!

Every time I take a picture of the girls, I imagine James Mitchell right there with them. I see him curled up in McKenzi’s lap, Sarah Grace holding Daisy proudly. He’d be four now, probably wiggling, laughing, and impossible to keep still.

Watching the girls grow up is such a gift, but there’s always a bittersweet ache. I’m so grateful to watch them grow, even as it hurts knowing I don’t get to watch JM grow too. He’s always in the picture, even when he’s not.

This morning in church while we were recognizing the fathers they read these verses from Deuteronomy.

“You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your strength. “And these words which I command you today shall be in your heart. You shall teach them diligently to your children, and shall talk of them when you sit in your house, when you walk by the way, when you lie down, and when you rise up. You shall bind them as a sign on your hand, and they shall be as frontlets between your eyes. You shall write them on the doorposts of your house and on your gates.”
Deuteronomy‬ ‭6‬:‭5‬-‭9‬

Brandon, I am so thankful for you! You are such a wonderful daddy to our girls. You make sure to spend time with them and talk to them about what’s on their minds. You lead our family in Bible study and prayer. You take us to church. Seeing you lead us as a Christian dad and husband is such a blessing! I thank God for you everyday!

To my daddy, I am so grateful I had all the same things growing up and still get so much encouragement from you. You always kept Christ at the center of everything. Thank you for being the best PawPaw to our girls!

To my father in law aka “Pepaw”, thank you for raising such a wonderful man! And thank you for being the best Pepaw to our girls!

We had so much fun talking with We The Kingdom before Friday night's show. They and Katy Nichole even sang Happy Birthday to Kenzi! (I’ll share that to our stories 😜). It was a birthday she’ll never forget! 😆
