River Grove Mayor Dave Guerin already caught a ride to the River Front Fest with the Blooze Brothers so plan to get on your bike, call an Uber, walk over, whatever it takes to get to River Front Park this weekend for 4 days of great food, music, carnival rides, give-aways and more! If you love to shop for deals, we have a suggestion for you! The 2026 Yard Sale Extravaganza to benefit the Westchester Food Pantry has everything you ever wanted (except clothes). There is so much inventory that not all is displayed at once. As items are sold and spaces open up, volunteers will bring out more merchandise. This means new merchandise comes out every hour—no two days of the sale are the same.

Thursday, May 28, 8am-3pm
Friday, May 29, 8am-3pm
Saturday, May 30, 8am-12pm
Saturday only: fill a bag for $5!

This sale is generously hosted by the Westchester Community Church, 1840 Westchester Blvd. Payment accepted: cash, credit card and Zelle. All proceeds benefit the Westchester Food Pantry. The Archdiocese of Chicago will hold annual Memorial Day Field Masses held at a number of Archdiocesan Cemeteries on Monday, May 25th at 10:30 AM, including Queen of Heaven Cemetery in Hillside. Everyone is invited to these outdoor Masses to reflect on sacrifice, freedom, and the power of prayer.

🇺🇸Berkeley Village President Bob Lee Memorial Day invites area residents to its annual Memorial Day ceremony held at Veteran’s Park in Berkeley Park. Services will start at 11am and be led by American Legion Post 1016. Special guest speaker will be active Army medic and Berkeley Illinois Police Department officer Chris Durschmid.

🇺🇸The Village’s of Franklin Park’s annual event, co-sponsored with the American Legion Post 974, will be held on Monday, May 25 at 11 AM at the Veterans Monument, west of Village Hall. The event will pay tribute to our deceased Franklin Park veterans and feature an honor guard, a ceremonial presentation of the memorial wreath, and more. CEREMONY. PARADE. PICNIC. River Forest Park District, Village of River Forest, Kiwanis Club of River Forest-Oak Park, and Oak Park-River Forest Chamber of Commerce are proud to present the 101st annual River Forest Memorial Day Parade, Ceremony, Community Picnic, and Business Bash on Monday, May 25. The parade kicks off at 9:30 AM beginning at Iowa and Ashland, traveling south on Ashland to Lake Street, then west to Keystone Park.
