Cisne, South Vaughan Fire

Bedford Fire Department personnel were called to a Cisne structure fire at 403 South Vaughan Street after 5 p.m. on Monday.

Chief Josh Smith said fighters arrived to the home fully involved, and residents were safely removed without injuries.

The Cisne department cleared the scene at approximately 6:30 p.m. with the cause of the fire still under investigation.

Tonight's Waltonville at Cisne High School basketball game has been postponed until Friday, Feb. 21 with a 6 p.m. JV start.

This will be senior night, as scheduled.

The regular season game with Edwards County Friday has been cancelled.

State Win, Lady Panthers (N.H.)

The New Hope School Lady Panthers won the (Class-S) State Championship game over the weekend Saturday afternoon at Rend Lake College. While the Braves of Bartelso Elementary gave a firm game, they finished shy of a Lady Panther’s 50 – 46 victory.

No School, More Snow

No school for F.C.H.S. has been announced Friday, January 9, and cancelled all weekend sports and activities. Admins. hope to see students on Monday, though a winter forecast suggest more snow may come.

A fog rolled in early Thursday morning, and did not dissipate until until closer to 9 a.m. Photographs are included of the fog.

And the regular Thursday edition of the Wayne County Press has been published, and is on its way to subscribers/retailers.

Due to inclement weather, no school will be held at F.C.H.S. on Thursday, January 9, announced this afternoon by Supt. Bob Wells. The cancellation includes all school sports and activities.
