This morning at 8:30 on This Week In Shoals Area History we travel to 1973. Our first stop is Woolco as they always have many random things on sale. The next visit is the box office at Flowers Hall for a major concert coming up later this month. Before a tasty lunch we'll go to Big K for the latest albums.
We conclude our visit with one of the top movies of the year at The Shoals Theater. On our way back to present day we'll scan the dial to land on a song that was red hot on the radio this week in '73. Q107.3 WQLT.COM

This change comes as a result of the exciting growth and attendance projections for this year’s event, along with parking and accessibility improvements for athletes, families, and fans.

Parents and fans are encouraged to bring their own chairs.

🪑 Seating will be provided for athletes and staff attending with the athletes.

We look forward to a great day celebrating inclusion, sportsmanship, and achievement!

Donna Jean Thatcher was born in Florence, Alabama on August 22, 1947. Prior to 1970, she had worked as a session singer[1] in Muscle Shoals, Alabama, eventually singing with a group called Southern Comfort and appearing as a backup singer on at least two number one hit songs: "When a Man Loves a Woman" by Percy Sledge in 1966 and "Suspicious Minds" by Elvis Presley in 1969

Donna Jean Godchaux, a former member of the Grateful Dead who also sang on No. 1 hits for Elvis Presley and Percy Sledge, has died. She was 78.
