Today we organized 3 little boys closets. 👕
Three brothers, close in age, so of course this sweet momma was overwhelmed with clothes and laundry. We conquered the overwhelm for her and sorted out each boys closet by the size that they are currently in and then organized their clothes by type and color.
I gave her these tips for keeping their closets and laundry manageable:
🧦 Buy the same brand/style/color socks - keep in a bin or basket near the shoe drop zone. No need to match them if they are all the same. Grab two socks and go. If one gets a hole, toss it. Repeat as needed.
👕 Keep clothes sorted by sleeve length/style and then by color. This helps tremendously when picking out outfits and getting dressed for the day. (Short sleeve, long sleeve, collared, sweaters, vests, jackets)
🧺 Do laundry by child weekly — each child gets a laundry basket — wash, dry, and put away by child instead of having to sort through every load of laundry and put away in multiple closets.
🔘 Use the dot system to easily track hand-me-downs. Oldest gets one dot on the tag, second child gets two dots, and third child gets three dots. A quick and easy way to know which clothes are whose if they are close in size.
✨ Use matching hangers for a more clean and cohesive look in the closet. . .
