SEVERE WEATHER SETUP – Monday June 8th

Storm mode may feature semi-discrete or discrete supercells, which could support a localized severe weather threat.

Instability will be elevated, with CAPE around 4300 J/kg.
Southwesterly wind shear around 20 to 23 mph may support storms capable of producing large hail

Main threats include:
– Large hail up to 2.0 inches
– Damaging winds up to 60 mph
– Tornadoes are possible, but currently appear unlikely

The cap may suppress storm development early, but any storms that do form could strengthen quickly.
