Watching our baby have the time of her life at camp has been one of my favorite things. 🥹💙🏕️

Every picture tells a story…

A little girl who wasn’t afraid to jump in.
A little girl making new friends.
A little girl building confidence.
A little girl discovering just how amazing she really is. ✨

Seeing her laugh, play, encourage others, and simply enjoy being a kid makes my heart so happy. ❤️

Sometimes as parents we worry about everything. We wonder if they’re okay, if they’re fitting in, if they’re making memories they’ll never forget.

Then pictures like these show up and remind us that they’re doing exactly what they’re supposed to be doing—growing. 🌱

Layliah, Daddy and I are so proud of you. Not because of awards or recognition, but because of the beautiful person you are becoming.

You walked into camp with courage.
You made new friends.
You tried new things.
You stepped outside your comfort zone.
And you did it all with that beautiful smile. 🥹

It’s not just that she’s participating.
It’s not just that she’s having fun.
Every single time her name comes up, they talk about how she encourages others. ❤️

As a mother, that’s what makes me the proudest.

My baby is out there navigating insulin-dependent Type 2 Diabetes, ADHD, being away from home, trying new things, and still finding ways to lift up the people around her. 🥹💙

A leader.
A friend.
A cheerleader.
A light.

Layliah, Mommy is so proud of you. Not only are you showing out, but you’re showing your heart. That’s something no award, trophy, or recognition can ever replace. ✨

I opened my Camp Sweeney update and look whose name I saw under Basketball… MY LAYLAY! 😭👏🏽

“LayLay Edwards showed off her marvelous spin moves and mind-honing tricks today in basketball! What truly stunned everyone was the way she instilled patience and persistent effort into each of the campers, while absolutely making incredible moves on the court.”

Baby, do y’all see that? It wasn’t just about her basketball skills. It was her character. Her leadership. Her patience. Her willingness to encourage others. 🥹✨

What makes this moment even sweeter is knowing everything she’s overcome. My baby navigates insulin-dependent Type 2 Diabetes and ADHD every single day, yet she continues to thrive, lead, learn, and shine. 💙

So many people see the smiles and accomplishments, but they don’t always see the finger sticks, insulin, doctor appointments, challenges with focus and attention, and all the extra work she puts in behind the scenes. Yet here she is, making her mark and inspiring others along the way.

Layliah, Mommy is beyond proud of you. Not because you’re perfect, but because you keep showing up. You keep pushing forward. You keep proving that your circumstances do not define you.

You are smart.
You are strong.
You are resilient.
You are a leader.

And what makes me the proudest is that people aren’t just noticing your talent—they’re noticing your heart. ❤️

People be absolutely CRAZY… and we just be over here laughing. 🤣🤣

At this point, we done learned that not everything deserves a reaction. Some stuff be so ridiculous all you can do is look at each other and laugh. 😭💀

Protecting our peace.
Minding our business.
Staying out the way.

And laughing through it all. ❤️✨

Baby, if it don’t pay bills, bring peace, or add value… we ain’t stressing it. 😂💯

Everything I have now came from prayer, pressure, sacrifice, lessons, long nights, and refusing to give up when life got heavy 💯

I don’t look like what I’ve been through.
And honestly? That’s God’s grace 🙏🏽✨

I’ve been overlooked, underestimated, exhausted, and tested… but I kept going anyway.

Now look at me.
Healing.
Growing.
Learning.
Elevating.

This is your reminder that humble beginnings do NOT determine your ending 💖

This season of my life is personal 💖✨

I’m learning to love the version of me that survived what almost broke her.

The woman who kept showing up tired.
The woman who cried in silence.
The woman who carried pain and still poured love into everybody else.

I’m not who I used to be… and honestly? Thank God 🙏🏽✨

I’ve outgrown survival mode.
I’m choosing peace, boundaries, healing, purpose, and softness this time around 😌💛

To the old version of me… thank you for getting us here.
But baby, the new me?

She’s healing.
She’s growing.
She’s glowing.
And she finally knows she’s enough 🤍✨
