Behind this camera on the other side lies a mess of boxes and more stuff that I’ve run out of places to hide. I worked on cleaning and de-cluttering yet once again when I found I couldn’t even sit to work in orders. Anyone else not like unexpected visits or people in their space? I just like to be left alone 🥹

Still in awe that I, a latina from Houston, Texas, had the privilege of decorating the White House for the holidays. Being a volunteer this year was something I’m still trying to figure out how to describe and explain to others who ask me how it went… This experience was truly beyond words, surrounded by incredible people and like-minded souls who made every moment unforgettable. I’ll forever be grateful for this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. Never thought I’d find myself inside the White House, let alone helping decorate the White House, making magic happen. 20 pictures isn’t enough, I want to show it all to you, as much as some of it is truly indescribable. 2024 was truly a year to remember 🫶🏽

To be chosen to decorate The White House for the holidays is an experience I will always cherish. I was so nervous initially since I was doing this alone. It felt like the first day of school again where I was going to be forced to be social and talk all day to make connections. Why would that be scary you might ask? Because I can easily be overstimulated in these settings which makes it all overwhelming and that made me nervous to think about.

It was the most calming yet exciting experience to be a part of something so much bigger than myself. From the White House staff, the designers, and team leaders, to our team. Everyone has been nothing short of kind, sweet, and encouraging. This is my first time and it won’t be my last.

Today is a big day. The last day. We finished decorating yesterday and today we get to see it all come together. All the hard work from the last three days from everyone involved. I’ve met so many talented individuals from all walks of life and from all parts of our country. We all came together to create something magical.

I’m feeling incredibly thankful and elated. Seeing my parents be so happy and proud and sharing my content 20 times a day brings me so much joy. I can’t wait to show you everything tonight. Stay tuned for the HGTV special in a few weeks. You may or may not see me in it. 🫶🏽
