“Yesterday, Donald Trump was officially sentenced—he is now a felon. However, he is escaping all accountability and will be returning to the White House in just 9 days.

Our justice system does not often treat all people equally. Too often, poor and marginalized communities across the country are incriminated for crimes that the wealthy and powerful easily escape.

“Trump sentencing

President-elect Donald Trump is scheduled to be sentenced today in his New York hush money case, despite his efforts to delay the proceeding. On Thursday, the Supreme Court said in a 5-4 ruling that Trump can be sentenced for his May conviction on 34 counts of falsifying business records in connection with hush money payments made to adult film star Stormy Daniels before the 2016 presidential election. Trump, who will appear virtually, is not expected to face prison time or other penalties, but the sentencing will nevertheless mean that he will be the first US president to take office with a criminal conviction written into his official record.”

Have you realized that we only have 15 days left in 2023? While it is a time to rewind, review, and reflect, it's also time to prepare for what's next.

In business, we often talk about assessing systems, processes, and administrative efficiency. Organizational assessment has great value for a leader to take inventory of the of overall leadership impact.

But beyond that, in business and life, leaders must also take inventory of themselves.

Here are 5 Leadership Questions for What's Happening Now and to How to Prepare for What's Next:

1. (+) Addition: What is ADDING to your life, mission, future?

2. (-) Subtraction: What is SUBTRACTING from your life, mission, future?

3. (x) Multiplication: What is MULTIPLYING good in your life, mission, future?

4. (÷) Division: What is DIVIDING your focus and distracting you from your vision?

5. (=) Sum: What do the SUM of these answers equate to and what do they mean for your future?

Get a journal, make some notes and answer these simple questions. You just might be surprised by what you come up with that can transform the rest of 2023 and your 2024. — Happy Holidays!
