Macie Phifer wanted to play basketball at Mississippi State for as long as she can remember.

Now, the former Ingomar standout is getting her chance.

Phifer committed to Mississippi State out of the NCAA Transfer Portal in April. She chose the Bulldogs over Ole Miss.

“I obviously grew up a Mississippi State fan, so it was always a dream of mine,” Phifer said. “But I tried to take that out of the decision and focus on finding a place where I felt supported.

“When I got to Mississippi State, I just felt at home. Coach Sam [Purcell] and the staff shared their vision for me and for the team, and it was something I wanted to be a part of. They genuinely care about us as people just as much as they care about us as basketball players.”
