Re: the latest swapping of innocent hostages for the release of thousands of Hamas terrorists, there is nothing to celebrate. Thousands of future Sinwars are being released. I wonder how many more 10/7’s we’ll get from this deal. Until Israel/Jews and the West understand that Islam is incompatible with Torah and basic decent humann values, we’re rewarding terror and setting ourselves up for more terror and bloodshed. Islam is an evil ideology —-inherently hateful and violent toward all non-Muslims…just like Mohammed the false “prophet” himself — a genocidal lunatic who murdered hundreds of Jews and others because they didn’t agree with his lunatic distortions of Judaism and Christianity. When Yom Kippur and Game One of the 1965 World Series fell on the same date, Los Angeles Dodgers pitcher Sandy Koufax was faced with a difficult decision. In observance of the Jewish High Holiday, he declined to take the mound.

His choice to sit out made headlines. The Dodgers lost that game, but Koufax helped them clinch the series. In Game 7, he pitched his second shutout of the series against the Minnesota Twins, leading the Dodgers to win the championship. That year, and for the second time in his career, he won the World Series Most Valuable Player Award.

Koufax was steadfast in his decision to forego work and observe the Jewish Day of Atonement. He told sports journalist Milton Richman, “[A] man is entitled to his belief, and I believe I should not work on Yom Kippur."
