***SIREN TESTING - TUESDAY, JUNE 16, 2026 AT 10:00AM***

Early warnings from the National Weather Service of the storm that effected Streator on Thursday, June 11th provided Streator residents ample notice to take cover. Thankfully, there were no fatalities or major injuries because of that warning.

To ensure our tornado alert siren system remains functional, we will be testing the siren system at 10:00 A.M. on the morning of Tuesday, June 16th, 2026. The Streator Fire Department will have personnel posted at each siren to verify that each siren is performing as expected. Each siren will activate for less than a minute to ensure they are working properly.

The Streator Fire Department is closely monitoring the weather for any further severe storms.
