The road to Highmark Stadium for both the North Allegheny and Seneca Valley girls soccer teams had few tricks and many treats en route to a meeting for WPIAL Class 4A gold on Halloween.

The two north suburban schools needed double OT to decide the crown. It was a 2-1 North Allegheny win — the school’s fourth WPIAL title and first since 2022.

Top-seeded Pine-Richland (17-3) clinched its seventh straight WPIAL title with a 2-0 win over No. 3 North Allegheny (8-9) at Newman Stadium.

It took a few extra days, but North Allegheny claimed the Western Pennsylvania Interscholastic Softball League title Saturday at McIntyre Park in Ross Township. The third-seeded Tigers started the day with an 11-7 win over No. 2 Bethel Park in the semifinals before taking down No. 1 Montour, 7-3, in the championship contest.

From Brazil to McCandless, the story of JoJo the VW bus is a testament to community and perseverance. See how Dr. Mancini, with a little help from her state representative, navigated the challenges of Pennsylvania's registration process.

Dr. Sheri Mancini, a surgeon from McCandless, fell in love with a 1967 Volkswagen Kombi bus she found offered for sale from Brazil. But getting the vehicle registered in Pennsylvania took longer than the transport from South America — and required the help of a state lawmaker.
