The road to Highmark Stadium for both the North Allegheny and Seneca Valley girls soccer teams had few tricks and many treats en route to a meeting for WPIAL Class 4A gold on Halloween.

The two north suburban schools needed double OT to decide the crown. It was a 2-1 North Allegheny win — the school’s fourth WPIAL title and first since 2022.

The North Allegheny boys soccer team ended this season with 10 wins, six losses, three ties and zero regrets. In the wake of a 1-0 loss at top-seeded Peters Township in the WPIAL Class 4A quarterfinals on Oct. 25, the No. 8 Tigers recalled a “tricky season” with many more highs than lows.

The police department hired Buchart Horn Architects in early 2025 to complete a feasibility study on a new or renovated facility. Buchart Horn completed the study over the summer and presented it to the police board and provided several options.

Top-seeded Pine-Richland (17-3) clinched its seventh straight WPIAL title with a 2-0 win over No. 3 North Allegheny (8-9) at Newman Stadium.

Confetti rained down from the Pine-Richland stands with a period to go in the WPIAL Class 3A field hockey championship game Tuesday. The odd thing? Neither the Rams nor their Class 3A rival, North Allegheny, had scored.

It took a few extra days, but North Allegheny claimed the Western Pennsylvania Interscholastic Softball League title Saturday at McIntyre Park in Ross Township. The third-seeded Tigers started the day with an 11-7 win over No. 2 Bethel Park in the semifinals before taking down No. 1 Montour, 7-3, in the championship contest.
