Bandit’s official win pic going Best of Variety & Owner Handled Best of Variety under Judge Linn Klingel Brown in Spokane last Friday, over a very nice group of 11 other long coats. He is the other half of the clown town crew I picked up a year ago driving home from this show and half brother to Toast. He finished his CH at the Phoenix specialty in February and is just 2 points shy of his GCH. He has “mostly” recovered from his bad experience in BPUP with an aggressive judge last year, although he still struggles showing to male judges.

I wasn’t paying attention to counting points at the Chihuahua specialty in Spokane last weekend and realized after the fact that Toast finished her GCH at the 2nd show with her Select Bitch placement under Judge Donna Buxton. We missed taking the official win pic with the judge, but still wanted to celebrate her new title. It was exactly one year ago, driving home from this show, that I picked up this goofy clown town puppy and started turning her into a show dog. Her energy is absolutely the most fun type of dog to have in the ring.

Spunky Forged in Fire aka “Blade” had his first Beginner Puppy show yesterday at exactly 4 months old.🎂 He is fully in the fuglies, shedding his puppy coat and looking all gangly. We weren’t sure how it was going to go considering we just started leash training a week ago. 🤷🏼‍♀️😂 He completely exceeded my expectations! He had confidence and a happy tail in the ring and no problem going around and landing in a free stack with good eye contact.👀 He is VERY food motivated!🍗Now the table…needs some work. He didn’t mind the judge saying hello but didn’t really want to be touched. He also doesn’t think anyone needs to see his toofies.😬 Day 1 - he was third out of three. Day 2 - Best of Variety!! Most of all, he had 2 positive experiences in the show ring for a good foundation for the future. 🥰

Can you believe Blade is 4 months old already?!😳 And we are celebrating with his first BPUP (Beginner Puppy) competition. Fingers crossed & send good wishes for a great experience. And if we get a ribbon, that’s great too!

Bribery really does get you everywhere when training puppies. These puppies are training off lead to be show puppies and they don’t even know it because they are just waiting for a pay out. 🤷🏼‍♀️
