Escaped prisoner believed to be in the Seattle area.
WANTED: The DOC's Northwest Community Response Unit is asking for your help to find this escaped prisoner. 33-year-old Christopher Brinkley may be in the Seattle area.
Crime Stoppers of Puget Sound is offering a cash reward of up to $1000 for information on his whereabouts. You will remain anonymous.
Brinkley jumped a fence at Correctional Industries Headquarters in Tumwater on Friday. He was last seen around noon. He was wearing a red shirt and khaki pants. hasn't been seen since.
Brinkley was incarcerated at Cedar Creek Corrections Center in Littlerock, WA and was at headquarters as part of his approved work program.
He was convicted in King County earlier this year of tampering with a witness and protection order violation and was scheduled to be released on June 16, 2026.
Officers have notified the victim in the case that he has escaped.
When I looked up the details, I see he was charged with Assault in the Second Degree-Domestic Violence after he broke his partner's nose in front of their 5 month old child.
A neighbor heard a woman screaming, "Please Stop.' When officers arrived, they observed multiple injuries to the woman's face. Her nose was bleeding and she had dried blood on her neck either from an earlier injury or scratches along with an old bruise under her eye.
Brinkley refused to answer questions and was detained when tried to leave.
After he was arrested, he called her from the jail 21 times between 8 am and 8:30 pm including while she was at the hospital being treated for her injuries.
Court documents detailed how controlling he was in the relationship, ordering her not to talk to advocates and to refuse to cooperate with the investigation and to say that "the neighbor lady is the one that did that s***." He also told her to say, "I'm here for his support, not against him. Make it clear the the police 'f'***** up. They don't know what they talking about. I'm here to get my man out."
The investigating detective with Seattle Police noted her concern for the victim's safety writing, 'It is evident in these jail calls that there is a incredible level of control in this domestic relationship. Victim has sings of continued abuse by suspect, victim appears afraid of suspect, neighbors report suspect has assaulted the victim many times and threatened her."
Brinkley also expressed anger that the court ordered him to turn in his guns.
His out of state criminal history includes Malicious Injury in 2019 in North Carolina. He also had a warrant there for Aggravated Assault from 2020.
Brinkley is 5'9", 264 pounds. He has a tattoo on his chest that says, LOVE HURTS with a heart, a tattoo on his left wrist that says Tara and a tattoo on his right arm-wrist.
If you have any information on Brinkley's whereabouts, you can text it through the P3 Tips App on your cell phone to Crime Stoppers, go to P3Tips.com or Crimestoppers.com or call 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).
You can also email me to be put in direct contact with the Unit Supervisor in charge of searching for Brinkley. Email me at [email protected]
