THIS WEEK: Once the faucet turns on, later it won't shut off!

I am still eyeing a very active pattern sticking around through at least Saturday the 7th. There will be periodic breaks in the rain, but don't let the gear get too far from you! The good news is that there is a lot of room in the ground for the rain to go because of the significant drought. But, I am still concerned with localized flooding, especially in the second half of the week.

ALSO, strong to severe storms are possible on Wednesday and Friday. However, the best instability Wednesday looks to stay south over Oklahoma. Nevertheless, this is your First Alert heads up to strong storms both days.

THIS TUESDAY, Keep an eye on the sky in the early morning. A lunar eclipse will be partially visible 3:50 AM through sunrise, with totality happening between 5 and 6.

Unfortunately, mother nature doesn't look to be cooperating with us, as widespread rain and clouds are in the forecast. But, you'll definitely be able to see it with any breaks in the clouds! 🤞🤞

Sunday through next Saturday, there is a chance for at least scattered, if not widespread, showers and thunderstorms. There will be breaks in the rain, periodically, but widespread 3-4" totals look likely right now

By now, I am sure most of you have heard there is a chance of a wintery mix and snow late Sunday into Monday.

I am very skeptical of any "forecasts" calling for a winter storm. Model data indicates high temperatures will reach the low to mid 70s tomorrow and the mid to upper 70s Saturday, so any snow or wintery mix that MAY develop, will not stick. That being said, this is still 3 to 4 days out, and long term model data continues to push the areas of flurries and wintry mix north.

This is still subject to change, but for now, plan for a cold, beneficial rain Sunday.

In case you haven't seen it yet, a HISTORIC Blizzard is likely in the northeast. Starting today, Blizzard Warnings are in effect up and down the east coast, and run through Tuesday afternoon.
Over a foot of snow possible in many locations in the northeast, accompanied by winds gusting as high as 50 to 60 miles per hour! Have a look!

Good Sunday Morning! though it is sunny now, and will be today and tomorrow we're not going to be feeling it. Winds out of the northwest at 15 to 25 miles per hour will only make it feel like the mid 20s through the rest of the day, and single digits tomorrow morning🥶

So far, radar estimates between 2-3 inches of rain have fallen in the Ozarks. Again, these are radar estimates, but still something we haven't seen in a while.

Widespread rain will still continue through the sext few hours before tapering off , gradually this evening and overnight.
