The holiday season is here, and we want to take a moment to thank our partners, customers, and testing site personnel for a fantastic year. It is a pleasure to support your testing and certification goals.

To allow our team time to recharge with their families, CareerTech Testing Center will be closed from December 24 through January 5.

While we apologize for any temporary inconvenience this closure may cause, we are committed to keeping your progress on track:
• Remote exams remain open: If your exam offers a remote proctoring option, candidates can still test during the break!
• Result uploads will continue: We will be processing and uploading test results throughout our absence, so you don't have to wait until January to see your progress.
• In-person sites: We look forward to seeing you back at our physical testing locations starting January 5.

🎓 Academic Integrity Crisis: The Numbers Don't Lie
New research reveals a troubling picture of cheating in higher education:
📈 The Statistics:
50-70% of students admit to cheating during college
92% now use AI tools (up from 66% last year)
88% use AI to complete assessments
Less than 2% get caught

💡 Why Students Cheat:
71% say pressure for good grades is the main reason. Add heavy workloads, high tuition costs, and the belief that "everyone's doing it"—and you have a perfect storm.
✅ What Works:
The good news? Proctored exams reduce cheating from 70% to just 15%. Other effective strategies include open-ended assessments, project-based learning, and plagiarism detection tools.
The landscape is changing fast with AI. It's time for institutions to adapt their approaches while supporting students through the pressure.

Curious about how sleep “resets” the brain and supports memory formation and retention? Watch The Benefits of a Good Night’s Sleep by Shai Marcu to learn how sleep balances and regulates the body’s vital systems—and why it plays a critical role in both declarative and procedural memory.

During the school year, many students stay up late (or all night) to cram for exams and assignments. Marcu explains the neurological importance of getting eight hours of sleep and offers practical insights: for optimal learning, aim to sleep about three hours after memorizing facts or formulas (declarative memory) and about one hour after practicing skills like music scales (procedural memory).
