This year marks a major milestone for the CareerTech Testing Center — 40 years of serving Oklahoma’s students, educators and workforce!

Since 1985, CTTC, a service of the Oklahoma Department of Career and Technology Education, has been providing high-quality standards and assessments for career and technology education programs across the state. Over the past four decades, CTTC has grown into a trusted partner for education and industry, helping ensure Oklahomans are prepared to succeed in high-demand careers.

CTTC partners with numerous state agencies to develop and deliver examinations required for certifications and licensures. In fact, CTTC currently provides assessments and preparation materials for approximately 175 occupations and courses.

What CTTC Does:
- Collaborates with industry to develop state and national standards for emerging occupations.
- Develops study guides and test plans that include sample questions and resource crosswalks.
- Works with subject-matter experts, agencies, and organizations to validate competencies and create certification/licensure exams.
- Coordinates testing through hundreds of sites in Oklahoma and across the U.S.
- Provides analytical data that supports instructional planning, program improvement, and occupational readiness.

To support learners statewide, CTTC assessments are provided free of charge to students currently enrolled in an Oklahoma CareerTech program.

Each year on October 14th, the members of the IEC, ISO and ITU celebrate World Standards Day, which is a means of paying tribute to the collaborative efforts of thousands of experts worldwide who develop the voluntary technical agreements that are published as International Standards.

The CareerTech Testing Center works directly with instructors, industry representatives, and credentialing entities to identify and develop more than 150 certification assessments and assessment preparation materials that align with recognized industry standards.

The CareerTech Testing Center was honored to coordinate Oklahoma state officials, including Rhonda Baker, director of education for the Greater OKC Chamber, and Jennifer Lepard, Oklahoma lobbyist with the Lepard Group, at Metro Tech's Springlake Campus last week as they completed the ACT® WorkKeys® Assessments at Springlake's on-site testing center.

WorkKeys measures foundational workplace skills essential for job success, helping individuals demonstrate the competencies employers value most. State legislators are exploring ways to make WorkKeys more widely recognized across Oklahoma.

Through our partnership with ACT, the Testing Center administers WorkKeys assessments statewide and awards CareerTech certificates based on achievement levels.
