Being a father—whether to a family, a parish, or a community—isn’t easy. It’s not about having perfect answers or a flawless track record. It’s about showing up with consistency, humility, and a heart that’s always learning to love better.

Real fatherhood is a journey of small daily decisions: to be patient, to sacrifice, to listen, and to lead with compassion. And over time, that kind of love transforms everyone it touches.

This Father’s Day, let’s honor the men—biological and spiritual—who grow in that kind of quiet strength.

Today the Church celebrates the Feast of Mary, Mother of the Church—a reminder that Mary’s motherhood didn’t end at Bethlehem or Calvary.

She is the Mother of Christ, yes—but also the mother of His Mystical Body, the Church. And that means she is the mother of each one of us.

This is more than theology—it’s deeply personal. Mary walks with you, prays for you, and draws you closer to her Son.

So today, take a moment to invite her into your day.

And if you’re looking for a deeper way to connect with her, "The Litany of Loreto" by Maureen Mullins is a powerful and beautiful place to start.

The Holy Spirit is always near—ready to guide, strengthen, and renew. But it starts with a simple prayer.

St. Josemaría Escriva put it this way: “To say simply, ‘Come, Holy Spirit!’ is a powerful act of faith.”

As we prepare for Pentecost, now is the perfect time to grow in relationship with the Holy Spirit. If you’ve been feeling stuck, scattered, or spiritually dry, these words might be exactly what you need.

Happy 100-year anniversary of the canonization of St. John Marie Vianney!

Today is a day to celebrate a life well lived and to strive to follow in St. Vianney’s footsteps to heaven. Writing about his life this past year created a stark contrast between his sacrificial love for the souls around him and mine.

I am not even close to where he was. I am galaxies and galaxies away. His life has been a kick in the teeth. It has reminded me of the enormity of my sinfulness. Reading his biographies shook me; grabbed me by my face mask to reorient me to what sacrifice, virtue, and unblinking discipleship demands. This contrast led me to work to be a better husband to my wife, father to my children, and friend to those in need.

To make St. Vianney’s life even more accessible to the world on this special day, I am releasing the first installment of Chapter 1 of my book “Coached by the Curé: Lessons in Shepherding with St. John Vianney”. I will release part two later this week.

Beware of my Irish imagination. I attempt to take the reader to a conversation among the greatest priest-saints in the history of the world. The dialogue unfolds in Heaven.

“Chapter 1: The Dialogue of the Saints” is set to music and read by my good friend Bill Wannell as images I collected from St. Vianney’s life flash across the screen. I hope this series of vignette videos brings to life the monumental importance of this priest’s sacrificial love in the life of the church.

She led armies—but her true power came from surrender.

On this Feast of St. Joan of Arc, we remember a saint whose courage didn’t come from self-confidence, but from knowing who she was in the eyes of God.

"You discover little by little your own greatness—your dignity, your talent... But there is one thing you should reflect on frequently: without God, you are nothing." — Coached by Joan of Arc by Alexandre Havard

May her witness inspire us to lead lives of bold virtue and deep dependence on God.

As Pope Leo XIV begins his ministry, he reminds us of the Church’s mission: to be a visible sign of unity and a source of healing in a world longing for peace.

In his inaugural Mass, he invited us to walk together—with Christ at the center—as a Church rooted in communion.

Let us keep our Holy Father in prayer as he begins this sacred journey, leading the Church with hope, humility, and strength.
