Broadcast television airwaves are serve for the public interest and must adhere to the regulations set by the FCC and all the broadcast stations. Therefore, they cannot simply say or do whatever they please. They are required to operate their shows according to established policies.

If any rules are violated, the first step is to consult with the FCC. Only if they approve does the matter proceed to the broadcast stations, which then they decide whether to allow broadcast on they station or not.

In contrast, platforms like Hulu, Netflix, podcast stations, internet talk shows, Roku TV, and private TV stations such as ours and X are privately owned and are not subject to FCC regulations. Their shows only need to comply with the policies of their respective stations, which are generally more flexible. The only person to answer to is the board of that platform.
