We’re talking about my mom, Judy Marie.

September 8, 1990 was the day everything changed.

Thirty-six years later, there are still questions. Still memories. Still moments I can see as clearly today as I did that night.

In this episode, I’m sharing things about my mom that you won’t find in a cold case file.

Who she was.
What she was like.
The woman behind the missing-person report.
The mother I remember.
And what I remember about the last time I saw her.

We talk about the hope I had that my mom was finally going to get away from an abusive marriage and that our lives were about to change.

Instead, she disappeared.

And for 36 years, my family has lived with the questions that come with that.

This isn't an episode about sensationalizing a cold case.

It's about remembering a woman.

It's about telling her story.

It's about what happens to the people left behind when someone disappears and answers never come.

And most importantly…

It's about refusing to let Judy Marie be forgotten.

Someone knows something. Maybe they have known for years. Maybe they convinced themselves it didn't matter anymore.

It matters.

Judy Marie matters.

And I'm going to keep saying her name until someone finally tells us what happened.

Someone has to.

WE’RE BUILDING SOMETHING.

Maybe you’re 40.

A place where women can share their stories, experiences, opinions, struggles, successes, lessons, dreams, ridiculous moments, hard truths and the things they don't always feel comfortable saying out loud.

We want to hear from YOU.

What are you starting?

What do you wish someone had told you 10, 20 or 30 years ago?

And maybe most importantly…

Who are you becoming now that you finally have permission to be YOU?

Funny how some men are VERY quick to tell women that postpartum depression, mental health struggles, or hormones are just “excuses.”

But have you ever watched road rage? The screaming, the anger, the egos, the inability to control emotions when someone cuts them off in traffic?

Yet somehow, women are the ones who need to “control themselves.” 🤔

This isn’t about making excuses for anyone. It’s about recognizing that men and women experience things differently—and there are some things men will NEVER experience or fully understand.

So maybe before judging a woman’s mental health or postpartum experience… listen first.

We’re both mothers. I’ve experienced the unimaginable loss of a child. And rather than choosing a side, we shared our personal thoughts, questions, and perspectives on a situation that has left so many people divided.

There are no easy answers here. And we’re not telling you what to think.

We’re asking you to listen, think, and tell us what YOU think.
