Liquid Loft Vienna based contemporary dance company under the artistic direction of choreographer Chris Haring.

Liquid Loft was founded in 2005 by choreographer Chris Haring together with musician Andreas Berger, dancer Stephanie Cumming and dramaturgue Thomas Jelinek. In their performances and installations, Liquid Loft interconnect contemporary dance directly with other forms of contemporary art, in order to create a cohesive all-embracing piece of art. Their idiosyncratic visual and formal language, thei

r distinctive acoustic stage-sets and professional dance production have earned Liquid Loft international recognition and awards like the Golden Lion for “Best Performance” at the 2007 Biennale in Venice.

A surreal encounter of dance and sound: Coal Mine Birds transforms the stage into a shifting landscape where bodies, objects and audience blur into unstable hybrids. Between reality and virtuality, a dreamlike world unfolds – fragile, intense, and irresistibly immersive.
This new work by Liquid Loft & PHACE invites you to step inside a choreography that is as much installation as performance, as much soundscape as dream. An evening where movement becomes music, space becomes sculpture, and the audience becomes part of the artwork.

„Four guests gather around a lavishly set table to indulge in the piled-up delicacies. Cameras become witnesses to this vegetarian feast. In breathtaking close-ups, a large screen reveals what the penetrating eyes of the lecherous medium pick up, whose lenses can even see in the dark, making the faces of the gourmands appear ghostly green. The meal escalates into a lascivious o**y. Overripe fruits burst, oozing fermenting juice. As if intoxicated, the bodies roll around in this slightly rotten garden of earthly delights, which is presented here as an allegory of the vanitas of unnerved indulgence societies. The “supersensory” mix of performance and live film seems to have become even more topical since its premiere twelve years ago.“

Vienna-based performance company LIQUID LOFT is looking for professional dancers for an onstage installative dance production with live music.

• affinity for live camera, film, visual arts, photo

• openness for unconventional stage situations (open space, installation)

The process is based on individual and group improvisations including live camera work.

New music theatre project

Details:
Vienna based performance company LIQUID LOFT is looking for professional dancers for an onstage installative dance production with live music.

LIQUID LOFT is looking for a diverse cast of performers who have:

Be embraced, you millions (1892) was composed in a spirit of idealism and universal reconciliation, the title coming from another vision of a “better world”, Schiller’s Ode to Joy. In this creative engagement with Strauss’ late work, electronic ready-mades combine with live music, the dancers and performers uniting sound and motion in the ballroom of historical futurism.„
