Oriental plaza fire yet to be contained - Police

As at 8.20 am and almost 19 hours later authorities are yet to completely contain the fire that ravaged Block 3 industrial warehouses since yesterday.
Police say, together with the Fire department and Botswana Defence Force (BDF) their main focus was to make sure the fire does not affect other warehouses and they made sure they contain it to the one warehouse that was affected .
" You see the biggest challenge is that the area is congested and our initial strategy was to make sure we contain the fire. The other challenge is that since the warehouses were staffed with property the fire was even harder to manage ," Broadhurst police spokesperson Wazha Zambezi said.
Zambezi further admitted they had challenges.
" I admit it took a while because the water in the trucks had to be refilled at some stages, but I can assure that despite the challenges we are managing the situation and very soon we would have completely managed the situation," Zambezi said.
