Before outdoor swim season comes to an end, select Toronto public pools are opening their doors exclusively to dogs — and it’s completely FREE! 🐶💦

🗓️ September 6 & 20
⏰ 4:30–6:30 p.m.
📍 Multiple pools across Toronto

On Sept. 6, 9 pools will participate, followed by 7 locations on Sept. 20.

Just remember:
🐕 Up to 2 dogs per adult
💉 Rabies vaccination proof required
👀 Owners must supervise from the pool deck
💰 FREE admission

The TTC has installed its first steel platform barrier at TMU Station as part of a pilot project aimed at improving subway safety. Unlike full-height platform doors, the shorter barriers have openings where train doors stop.

The pilot could cost up to $2 million, but critics say the design may not do enough to prevent people from accessing the tracks. Full platform doors across the TTC network are estimated to cost around $4.1 billion.

As of today, September 1, 2026, TTC’s new monthly fare capping is live. Adult, Youth, Senior, and Fair Pass customers who pay with the same PRESTO card, debit/credit card, or mobile wallet automatically ride free after 47 paid trips in a calendar month—no monthly pass needed. Just keep tapping the same way!

Toronto police issued 324 tickets and warnings to e-bike, e-scooter and other micromobility users during a two-week enforcement blitz. 🚨 Police also handed out 1,277 parking tickets to vehicles parked in bike lanes. 🚗🚫

The campaign ran from Aug. 10–24 and focused on illegal sidewalk riding, wrong-way riding and other unsafe road use.
