NC Leaders Slip Through Barricades, Offer Tributes To July 13 Martyrs
A day after being placed under house arrest, Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah along with other National Conference leaders managed to slip through police barricades to offer fateha at the Naqshband Sahib graveyard in Srinagar. The visit was to pay homage to the martyrs of July 13, 1931 — a significant day in Kashmir’s political history.
Speaking to reporters at the site, Abdullah strongly criticized the Lieutenant Governor-led administration and police forces for attempting to prevent them from visiting the graveyard. He called the move unjustified and an insult to those who laid down their lives for justice and dignity.
The video captures the dramatic moments of Omar’s visit, his statement to the media.
