Meet the Artists: Daniel Allen / Herb 🔮

Daniel Allen is a DJ, producer, remixer, founder of Denied Music, and ubiyu resident with more than three decades in underground electronic music. Some may recognize him as the sharp-dressed presence holding down the door at our parties, but behind the decks, Daniel brings years of deep listening, groove, and room-shaping instinct.

Herb is a foundational figure in Austin’s underground dance music history. As the founder of Alien Records and former dance music buyer at , he helped introduce generations of DJs and music lovers to house, techno, trance, jungle, and underground club sounds.

Two Austin selectors shaped by years of digging, listening, and time behind the decks.

Meet the Artist: 🇬🇪 A Georgian-born selector now based in New York, Shvili brings a sound shaped by classical training, deep digging, and years of connection to the underground.

Rooted in her early life as a pianist and vocalist, her approach to music carries a rare sense of feeling and intention. Behind the decks, she moves through timeless records, playful grooves, and subtle moments of tension and release — creating sets that feel both intimate and alive.

A resident of / , Shvili has shared her sound across spaces including Public Records, Flash DC, ATV Records, Jolene Sound Room, Apollo Studios, and more, while playing alongside artists such as Francesco del Garda, Anthea, Liquid Earth, Tini, Velasco, Nicola Cruz, and Andrey Pushkarev.

The next edition of the Ubiyu Mix Series is here! Featuring our dear friend and staple of the Austin underground scene .

Austin based DJ and producer Slyde Drexler, staunch advocate of the bounce and bass-driven grooves, brings us a dreamy, ominous, left field mix that sets the tone from beginning to end.

An ambassador of underground house and techno, with roots stemming from hip hop, funk, soul, and jazz, his sets deliver a summation of these ingredients which are woven into his storytelling behind the decks.

Beginning in 2003, his persistent hunt for vinyl has evolved from sharp, heavy hitting hip hop routines into longer format electronic narratives. He’s since gone on to share the stage with the likes of Carl Craig, Felix Da Housecat, Omar S, Juan MacLean, Sharam, Chklte, and many more at venues across the US and beyond.

Enjoy this thoughtfully curated selection of deep cuts, atmospheric rhythms and distinctive flow that reflects his artistry.
