11 days left. This stream is alive because there's no road, no culvert, no runoff cutting through it. That's not an accident — it's a protection. The Roadless Rule is what's kept places like this intact for nearly 25 years.

12 days left. This bear doesn't know what a Roadless Rule is — but its whole life depends on the fact that stretches of Alaska like this one have never been roaded.

13 days left. Roadless forest is habitat, full stop. Eagles, salmon, bears, elk — all of it depends on large, unbroken tracts of wild ground. Repeal the Roadless Rule and you open the door to roads through exactly the places wildlife needs most.

14 days left. Cold, clean water like this exists because the forest around it was never fragmented by roads. Roads mean sediment, erosion, and warmer water — bad news for the fish that need it cold. The Roadless Rule is the reason rivers like this still run clear.

A tidewater glacier calving into a fjord that looks untouched by time. We're headed back to waters just like this for Holding the Line, our upcoming film on Bristol Bay, Alaska. More fishing films on our YouTube — link in bio.

Southeast Alaska from above.

This is the Tongass, and we love it about as much as anywhere we've ever worked.

The Forest Service is moving to erase the Roadless Rule — 44.7 million acres nationwide, 9.3 million of them right here. Roads, and the logging that follows, into country that has never had either.

Last year, 625,957 people commented. 99% said no. That record is exactly why this isn't over — it's the ground every lawsuit gets argued on, and it's why Earthjustice, the Sierra Club and the Wilderness Society are already going after the rushed 30-day window. The pressure is landing. It just has to keep landing.

Here's the catch: last year's comments don't carry over. New docket, new comment. If you spoke up in 2025, you have to do it again.

Closes September 21, 11:59pm ET. Five minutes, straight into the federal record.

Link in bio — timeline, numbers, sources, and draft language you can copy or make your own. Make it your own if you can. Identical comments get counted as one.

Today. 5PM Mountain, on our YouTube. Full film, free.

Twenty-five years ago a man pulled over on a dusty road in northern Patagonia and picked up a hitchhiker with rod tubes sticking out of his backpack. He did it partly to annoy his girlfriend.

The hitchhiker was Erik Argotti. The driver was Luciano "Lucho" Alba. Between them they'd help build Jurassic Lake into one of the most improbable rainbow trout fisheries on earth.

Return of the Guide follows Erik back to Lago Strobel decades later, with head guide Martín Rubino carrying the present-day story.

"Some guy picked me up on the side of the road to p**s off his girlfriend 25 years ago. And now I'm here." — Erik Argotti

5PM Mountain / 4PM Pacific / 7PM Eastern. Come watch it with us — we'll be in the chat.

Directed & edited by RA Beattie. Cinematography by Will Phelps & Erika Phelps. Written by Miles Nolte. An Off the Grid Studios production.

NEW FILM PREMIER!!!

Premieres tomorrow on our YouTube — Monday, September 1 at 5PM Mountain. Full film, free, all of it. Set a reminder and watch it with us.

Twenty-five years ago, a man pulled over on a dusty road in northern Patagonia and picked up a hitchhiker with rod tubes sticking out of his backpack. He did it partly to annoy his girlfriend.

The hitchhiker was Erik Argotti. The driver was Luciano "Lucho" Alba. Between them they'd go on to help build Jurassic Lake into one of the most improbable rainbow trout fisheries on earth — volcanic rock, relentless wind, and trout that have no business being that size.

Return of the Guide follows Erik back to Lago Strobel decades later, with head guide Martín Rubino carrying the present-day story.

"Some guy picked me up on the side of the road to p**s off his girlfriend 25 years ago. And now I'm here. It just reminds me how much the relationships we make through fly fishing shape our lives." — Erik Argotti

Premieres tomorrow, September 1. Full film, free.
