The ADA Title II deadline moved. Your video archive did not.
In April, DOJ pushed the web and mobile accessibility compliance dates back a year. Entities serving 50,000 or more people now have until April 26, 2027. Smaller entities and special districts have until April 26, 2028.
Here is what did not change: WCAG 2.1 Level AA is still the standard. Title II's underlying nondiscrimination and effective communication rules never went anywhere. Students have been filing complaints under those rules for years without a technical standard to point to.
So this is not a reprieve; it is a second budget cycle, which is what most campuses said they needed in the first place.
The schools that paused in April will spend spring 2027 doing frantically what they could be doing calmly right now, and they will pay a rush premium for it.
If you do not know where your risk sits, that is where Pulse starts. Pulse audits your existing captions at scale, predicts which files fall below the quality threshold you set, and shows you the cost and coverage tradeoffs before you commit a dollar.
Pulse also extends that to audio description, so you can see which video actually needs it rather than guessing.
