The ADA Title II deadline moved. Your video archive did not.

In April, DOJ pushed the web and mobile accessibility compliance dates back a year. Entities serving 50,000 or more people now have until April 26, 2027. Smaller entities and special districts have until April 26, 2028.

Here is what did not change: WCAG 2.1 Level AA is still the standard. Title II's underlying nondiscrimination and effective communication rules never went anywhere. Students have been filing complaints under those rules for years without a technical standard to point to.

So this is not a reprieve; it is a second budget cycle, which is what most campuses said they needed in the first place.

The schools that paused in April will spend spring 2027 doing frantically what they could be doing calmly right now, and they will pay a rush premium for it.

If you do not know where your risk sits, that is where Pulse starts. Pulse audits your existing captions at scale, predicts which files fall below the quality threshold you set, and shows you the cost and coverage tradeoffs before you commit a dollar.

Pulse also extends that to audio description, so you can see which video actually needs it rather than guessing.

Search engines can't watch your videos. They can only read them.

Captions and transcripts are the text that gets crawled and ranked, so accuracy matters more than most teams realize. YouTube's auto-captions land around 70% accuracy, and search engines don't reward content that looks auto-generated.

Language is where the real growth opportunity is. Dubbing and subtitles put your videos in front of viewers searching in other languages, where there's less competition and more room to rank.

Serving customers well starts with a team that knows each other.

This week, the go-to-market team got together to sharpen how we solve problems for our customers. We closed things out with a magician, and it's safe to say a few people are still trying to figure out how those tricks worked.

The best customer conversations start with a strong team behind them.

You shouldn't have to manually flag every video that needs audio description.

In this clip, Erik Ducker shows how Pulse can automatically route high-need videos to 3Play for remediation.

Set the rule once, and compliance stops depending on someone remembering to check.

Reviewing hours of video for missing audio description shouldn't mean watching hours of video.

Pulse's video segment review feature shows you exactly where the gaps are before you even hit play, so you can skip straight to what needs attention instead of sitting through content that's already covered.

Less guessing, less wasted time, more confidence that nothing slips through.

Video accessibility compliance starts with a question most schools struggle to answer: where is all our video, actually?

For a lot of schools, video isn't in one place. It's split across platforms, owned by different departments, with no single source of truth.

You can't audit accessibility risk across content you can't even see in one place.

In this clip, Co-CEO Chris Antunes breaks down why getting your video connected matters just as much as auditing it once it's there.

Captioning for Title II compliance is one thing.

Audio description is a different problem entirely and for most universities, it's the one that's still unsolved.

AD can cost nearly 10x more than captions, but not every video requires it. And without a way to know which videos actually need it, institutions end up either over-spending or under-complying.

Pulse now solves for this. Erik Ducker walked through exactly how in a recent webinar: how to identify which videos need AD and which ones don't, how to prioritize remediation by real risk, and how to build a compliance process that's defensible to leadership.
