_______________
(Wednesday, June 17, 2:30 p.m.) KOOSKIA — A Colorado woman was arrested and booked on probable cause for three counts of vehicular manslaughter in relation to three motorcyclists who were killed in a Tuesday, June 16, collision on U.S. Highway 12 east of Kooskia.
According to Idaho State Police, the unidentified 60-year-old woman from Colorado Springs was transported to a local hospital for medical evaluation. Following her release, she was arrested and booked into the Idaho County Jail.
Names of the three victims are currently unavailable. The Idaho County Coroner’s Office will identify the deceased and determine the cause and manner of death.
The crash was reported around 4 p.m. near milepost 113, approximately 16 miles east of Lowell.
The preliminary ISP investigation indicates a 2019 Ford F-150, driven by the Colorado woman, was traveling westbound on US-12 when she attempted to pass another vehicle in a marked no-passing zone. The pickup crossed the double yellow centerline and collided with three motorcycles traveling eastbound.
The three motorcyclists sustained fatal injuries and died at the scene.
US-12 was closed for approximately six and one-half hours while emergency responders assisted at the scene and investigators processed evidence.
ISP was assisted by the Idaho County Sheriff’s Office, the Idaho County Coroner’s Office, the Idaho Transportation Department, and local fire and EMS personnel.
The crash remains under investigation.

It recharged our accident fund and gave us the faith to continue the mission of helping injured riders and their families. Remember if you know of someone who has been injured, please do a help request at www.bikerdown.org .org

COLORADO RIDERS… WE NEED YOU TODAY.

Please come out and support the 15th Annual Motorcycle Awareness Ride.

Running BikerDown has always been a labor of love for me. But honestly… this organization is even MORE important now than when I founded it 16 years ago.

Every year, the epidemic grows:
More riders are being hit.
More riders are being seriously injured.
More families are losing people they love.

BikerDown was FOUNDED HERE in Colorado.

It was OUR Colorado losses…
OUR Colorado crashes…
OUR Colorado riders…

THAT built BikerDown into an organization that now helps riders ALL OVER THE COUNTRY.

Today is about visibility.
Today is about remembering the fallen.
Today is about standing together as a riding community.

If you’ve lost someone on a motorcycle, please bring their photo so we can honor them.

Please don’t sit this one out. We need our motorcycle community now more than ever. BikerDown Colorado
