Good afternoon Smarties. It's time for another Smartie Spotlight. In this spotlight we have ToTheStars aka Will with the_childrens_army If you want to learn more about The Children's Army, their link will be in the comments.

Growing up in Southern California in the 80’s was the start of the Vegas experience, at least the old Vegas experience. My parents would take me out there a couple times a year and I would wander the casino looking for them so I can get more quarters for the arcade. Most would say the simpler time of life and the best time Vegas offered. As I got older, the trips continued year after year. My uncle moved out there and currently still lives there (25yrs now), which would now make it easier to get there to stay for free. Hitting 21 in 2001 changed everything. I was already working at a major natural gas company in SoCal doing the pipeline construction, so the money was great for a kid that age and Vegas went from “don’t touch the machines” to wide open chaos. I quickly learned that you don’t win too much, and I worked too hard to blow it. That’s when I learned to only bring what I would be willing to throw in the trash. As more years passed, I started inventing products and tools along with starting companies to try and sell it all and only one had a TV commercial with As Seen On Tv, but in the end they all fizzled out. Hitting 38 is when the idea of creating something for others popped into my
head. I ran it through my head a few times a year and it wasn’t until I was 42 when The Children’s Army popped in my head. I heard the sentencing of a heinous abuse trial that happened out here, and I realized that there wasn’t anyone, or any charity, helping these innocent children through their struggles in this way. So, I decided then and there I was. Built my team and away we went, and he we are providing free therapy to any child in the states that need it. Hopefully in near future, we will have enough monthly donations so we can open our own facility with our own doctors. For now, though, we will continue to pay the invoices and fees for the kids to get the help they need.

During the start of the charity, I got really into the gambling YT watching. If you
remember your first time seeing it, it was a rush. I first stumbled upon Dave during
Gamble the Globe, which led me into Marc with another channel. I became one of the chat locals and we all hit it off pretty quickly. When they merged into GSGS, that’s when it went from chat friends to personal friends. I can’t remember if they reached out or I did, regarding TCA, but Marc and Dave didn’t hesitate 1 sec saying they wanted to help and be a part of it. These are the types of people the world needs more of. No hesitation to do good out there. No question on trying to figure out how to help and change a life. Not doing it to boost their “image”. Seeing all the streamers these days, you can’t help but see the obvious. GSGS is the only one channel giving free detailed knowledge and professional advice to help us all in the casino and they do it with entertainment. The other channels are entertainment only and mostly false appearance that it’s easy to win, especially if you bet high. Can’t wait for the next Vegas trip 10/5 to see Marc & Dave and all the chat friends, then it will probably be hanging with them early 2026 at Winstar for the live slot raffle! See you all soon. Stay blessed!

Every casino game has built-in odds that favor the house. For example, a slot machine might have a payout rate of 95%, meaning that for every $100 wagered, the machine is designed to keep $5 over the long run. At first, that $5 might not seem like much, and you might even hit some wins early on. But as you continue to play hundreds or thousands of spins, the math starts to work against you.

This concept is called expected loss. The longer you play, the closer your results are likely to get to the statistical average. Even if you get lucky and win in the short term, the longer session increases the likelihood that the house edge will eat into your bankroll. That’s why casinos are willing to offer perks—they encourage players to stay longer, which gives the house more time to earn from its edge.

Title: How the House Edge Works Over Time

Amount Wagered House Edge (5%) Expected Loss
$100 $5
$500 $25
$1,000 $50
$5,000 $250
$10,000 $500

Explanation: Even a small house edge may seem minor on a single bet, but as you wager more, your expected loss grows. The longer you play, the more the odds favor the casino.

Tip: Set a limit on both time and money to keep control of your play.

The smart approach is to set a budget and a time limit before you start playing. Enjoy the comps and the excitement, but make sure you decide when the game ends. This way, you’re in control of your experience rather than letting the odds dictate your results.

💲Tipping On Table Games

❓How you should tip on table games can vary. It's more what you are comfortable with. If you feel the need to reward a dealer a good rule of thumb is to give them the same amount you are betting from time to time when you feel the desire to do so. There are no set rules on how much or even if you should tip your dealer but if you are having a good session a little good karma never hurts.

❓So how do you actually tip? That could depend on the dealer as well. The best route is to simply ask them, 'How do you want to be tipped?' Some prefer that you just give them the tip and they can put it in their "t**e box." Others may prefer that you place it as a bet besides your bet on the table so they get the fun of being in on the action. It doesn't hurt to ask how they prefer.

It can have benefits as well. Take for example you are playing craps. You've been tipping from time to time and they appreciate it. You've had too many White Russians and forget to place your odds bet, considerably hurting your chances at a profit. I've seen table game dealers actually pause the game and say 'Hey you forgot to place your odds bet' So it can be beneficial to you as well.

Have a great day Smarties!
