Bruce Owens passed away Thursday at 62 after a recent illness. Owens was on the Georgetown College football staff for 27 seasons, including all three NAIA national titles in 1991, 2000 and 2001. He was inducted into the Tigers' hall of fame in 2022.

On May 29, 2026 at approximately 5:40 pm, deputies with the Scott County Sheriff’s Office responded to the area of Ironworks Road and Midway Road in reference to a motor vehicle collision involving a passenger van and motorcycle.

Deputies arrived on scene and determined that the Georgetown/Scott County Collision Investigation Unit needed to respond due to the severity of the collision.

At this time, one operator has been transported to UK Hospital due to suffering serious physical injury. This collision is still under investigation.
