A Vietnam veteran came home from war and turned his pain into purpose. He became instrumental in the study, diagnosis, and recognition of PTSD — then founded the Veterans Outreach Center in Rochester, NY, which has helped thousands of returning veterans ever since.

And yet, almost no one knows his name.

He's since passed, but his daughter has kept his story alive through audio interviews, photos, and articles. We want to turn that archive into a documentary that finally gives him the recognition he deserves.

Here's the hard part: his daughter is moving out of the country soon. Once she goes, this window closes — for good. There will be no second chance to capture this story.

We absolutely want to tell this story. Unfortunately, this project is outside what we can cover on our own. Every dollar donated goes directly toward travel, lodging, and equipment to make this shoot happen.

Freddie "Suckie" Williams was raised in Saginaw, Michigan, to never show fear — because fear meant weakness. That mindset created what he calls "a little monster," and that identity followed him for decades. Into gang life. Into crime. Into maximum security prisons.

Over and over again.

He searched for peace behind bars through the Nation of Islam. But every time he got out, the monster came with him. The cycle never stopped.

Until he met Jesus Christ.

For the first time in his life, that hardness — that identity he had carried since childhood — began to fall away. And what replaced it wasn't weakness. It was freedom. Watch his story below

Did you know that thousands of children sleep on the floor each night?

Sleep in Heavenly Peace is on a mission to make sure no child sleeps on the floor in our town. Through community volunteers and generous donations, they build and deliver free beds to children in need — complete with mattresses and bedding.

The President of the Sleep in Heavenly Peace - MI, Lansing , Jarrod Olsen, shares who they are, what they do, and how they’re making a real difference for families in our communities.

Every month, dozens gather in a large open warehouse in Haslett, Michigan, to do something amazing with one singular goal. Build beds for kids who need them most.

Sleep in Heavenly Peace is the leading non-profit dedicated to providing beds for children in need. Millions of children in the U.S. are sleeping on the floor, couches, or shared beds. Child bedlessness might not be a real word, but it’s a real problem. A good night’s sleep can improve nearly every aspect of a child's mental and physical health. SHP won't stop until no kid sleeps on the floor in their town.

Sleep in Heavenly Peace - MI, Lansing operates out of Haslett, Michigan, and has a build day on the second Saturday of every month. All are welcome, and no experience or tools are required to help build beds for kids in your neighborhood.

Children's Advocacy Centers offer many vital services to help children who have gone through abusive experiences. One of the most pivotal is the Forensic Interview Process. The goal of a forensic interview is to obtain a statement from a child in a developmentally sensitive, unbiased, and legally defensible manner to support accurate and fair decision-making in the criminal justice and child welfare systems. This is done with the involvement of local law enforcement, CPS, and any others who may be involved in the process of helping with a child's traumatic experience. CACMI offers support and training for these processes with the goal of better serving not only the providers there, but also the child who has to share their story.
